Moberly, Mo. – Danny Lorton is looking to be a top contender for the 2008 ULMA Championship.

“The Missouri Missile” is looking for a great 2008 season while he pilots his Schurbon Engine, TCI Automotive GRT ULMA Late Model hopefully to several victories this season.

In 2007 “The Missouri Missile” got off to a bad start after being involved in a wreck the first night out which left him sidelined for 3 weeks while repairs were made to the car. This was a big set back in his chase for the 2007 ULMA Championship. We felt like the car was lacking performance, and just never got the momentum back that was needed to be competitive and win weekly, but we are looking for a better 2008 season start.

We didn’t have the season we thought we would have in 2007 after coming off a strong 2006 season. We finished with a 6th place finish in the 2007 ULMA points standings. We wrecked the car at the start and that allowed us to miss three weeks of races, which we felt we could have posted some decent standings in that time frame. We had some good finishes, but never got the wins it took to move us higher in the standings.

Not a bad 2007 season, Our best finishes were 2nds, but never got that win, felt we were not as consistent as we should have been.

Danny ended the ULMA 2007 season sixth in the standing’s, only 90 points away from ULMA Champion Brett Rollert. And with missing several weeks at Callaway Raceway he climbed his way back to a 4th place track points standing .

We are hoping to get off to a much better start in 2008 while we race for a track championship at Callaway Raceway in Fulton Mo, and the ULMA championship.

The first ULMA Special Event will be April 19th at 24 Raceway in Moberly Mo.

This is Danny’s home town, and he is looking forward to returning to his former hometown track where he competed weekly for years as a modified driver.

With the support of Scott Schurbon, owner of Schurbon Engines, who will be suppling the Engines to put Danny back into victory lane. I feel this is just what we need to be more consistent and get the wins that it will take to win the 2008 ULMA Championship.

TCI Automotive who has been with Lorton Racing for 8 years suppling him with the Circlematic Drivetrain that has put Danny into victory lane several time in years past. Other sponsors include FastShafts, Scotty Signs & Graphics, AutoZone of Moberly Mo. and HeartlandMotorsports.com owned by Danny Howk
