(CHADWICK, IL) - Darren “The Thriller” Miller drove his 32D Pro Power Racing/ Ideal Ready Mix/ Out-Pace Racing Products Ford Taurus late model to “back to back” feature wins this Labor Day weekend. Winning first at LaSalle (IL) Speedway in the WDRL 50 lap event Sunday Sept. 4th , Miller found victory lane again on Monday night at the Davenport Speedway 40 lap WDRL event.

At LaSalle Sunday night, Miller would finish 2nd in his qualifying heat and 2nd in the pole dash, earning an outside front row feature starting position. Miller jumped to an early lead on the opening lap of the feature event but after an early caution flag flew, found himself running in 3rd. After several passing attempts at leader Eric Pember and second place running Jimmy Mars, Miller found the right combination on a lap 17 restart and passed both Mars and Pember. Miller quickly moved out to a straightaway lead and began to work his way through heavy lapped traffic, demonstrating how he earned the nickname "The Thriller". Miller was never seriously challenged again and took the checkered flag with a half a straightaway lead.

Miller started early the following night at Davenport, winning his qualifying heat and finishing 3rd in the pole dash. Lining up for the feature from the inside of row two, at the start Miller quickly moved into 2nd behind leader Jimmy Mars. Following were Kyle Berck and a hard charging Brian Birkhofer. Shortly after passing Berck for 3rd Birkhofer came to a stop in turns 3-4 when a front control arm failure ended his night. As “The Thriller” slowly began to reel in Mars he moved into position to make a challenge for the lead when the pair encountered lap traffic while entering turn one. Miller took the lead with a strong inside move on Mars and drove on for the feature win with Mars finishing 2nd, and Kyle Berck 3rd.

“We couldn’t be happier” stated Miller from his shop in Chadwick, IL. “We had originally planned to travel a littler further this weekend but at the last minute decided to stay closer to home for our fans and to spend the saved travel time preparing for the upcoming “World 100”. We won LaSalle Sunday night with one car, and then Davenport Monday night with our other car, so I think we have our program pretty close. We’ll be working on more prep over the next few days then we’ll be heading out for Eldora.”
