First Ever $1000.00 Purses for Quarter Midgets classes readies for PIR.

Quarter Midget racing has brought all forms of racing some of the biggest names both at your local tracks as well as on a national level such as NASCAR and IRL. But in the history of all the great kids before that have ever strapped in a Quarter Midget none had an opportunity quite like this. On Saturday, May 31st at Paducah International Raceway on the small dirt 1/5 mile track that is co-owned by NASCAR Superstar Tony Stewart and NASCAR legend Kenny Schrader the stage is set for the first ever Grands3. The Grands3 consists of three classes. Jr Honda, Sr Honda, LTE 160, that will have a $1000.00 purse in each class that will be split between the top ten. The winning car of each class will walk away with $500.00 and it will pay through the top ten if there is a full field of 20 cars. The winner also receives a personalized trophy check as well as a one of a kind Monsters of the Midwest Tour monster trophy. Midwest Motorsports Marketing and Promotions as well as the new promoters of PIR, the Mason family which is deeply planted locally in the Paducah community, have worked very hard to put such an event together. It is a first in the raceway's history as well, as this will be the first time ever that a Quarter Midget event will be held at this facility.

Other classes that have an opportunity to be a part of this special event are: Jr. and Sr. Novice, Jr. and Sr Animal, and Jr. and Sr. Stock which will not have any entry fees. These classes will be racing for a one of a kind Monsters of the Midwest Tour trophy going to the winners of each class. This event is also the first event in our Triple Crown points series. Winners in the Triple Crown receive a $250.00 gift card for first, $100.00 gift card for second, $50.00 for third, and $25.00 gift cards for fourth and fifth along with trophies for the top 5. This will be an unsanctioned event but will follow the QMA guidelines when it comes to rule enforcement. All Quarter Midget classes will be required to run Hoosier tires (NO PREP OR CHEMICALS ALLOWED) but will not require it to be a specific compound. All winnings will be paid to a parent or guardian over the age of 18. All cars must pass a pre-race safety inspection as well as be subject to a post-race car inspection.
