BIG BUCK$ FOR "MIGHTY MODIFIEDS" AT CMS SET FOR THIS SATURDAY'S "PEPSI/ BUD RACING "1K MODIFIED SPECIAL #1"!

Charles Captured 2 Mod 'Specials' Last Year, Still Looking for First CMS Win This Season!

Introduced last year as three additional 'Super-Specials' for Central Missouri Speedway's "Mighty Modified" division, so much interest and excitement was shown that the same events are being repeated this season starting with the first being this Saturday night's Pepsi/ Bud Racing "1K Modified Special #1" in Warrensburg.

The 'grand' waiting to be claimed by the winner is not the only bonus for the competitors. In reality, the entire $6750.00 modified special feature event purse definitely is!

Second pays $900, third-$800, $700 for fourth, fifth is $600, sixth $500 and the rest of the extended purse slides down in just as small, and smaller, increments. All cars and drivers that make and start the 24 car, 25 lap Pepsi/ Bud main event will earn a guaranteed $100.

Truly anxious to see it coming up is Bonner Springs, Ks' mod-ace, Tom 'rooster' Charles. Charles, with 26 years, 27 championships and holding at 323 wins at this writing, is hoping Saturday night will be a repeat from last year. In CMS' 2002 season, Charles won the season opener then racked up his second victory in the initial 1K event. Charles proceeded to win the second, same round of specials and totaled seven feature wins at CMS during the year. However, even though he's been charging hard and finishing towrd the very front, he has been scoreless in the 'A' feature victory ranks so far this year at CMS.

Last year as a sophomore racer, Concordia's Ben Woods used the 1K #3 card to win his first-ever race. He collected the renowned $1,000 to award him well for his young yet successful efforts.

The "1K Special' is wide open for all racers in the mod class. For these events, no entry fee is charged, but those who have not registered at CMS for the entire 2003 season much do so. The pit passes for this special will remain at $20.00.

Grandstand prices will also remain the same as the weekly fare; Adults-$10, Sr. Citizens-$8, ages 6 thru 11-$6 and under 6, free.

CMS is located 11 miles south of I-70 and 5 miles north of 50 Highway on route 13.

Tom, should be a good one, can't wait! Hope the weather holds out for us and looking forward to seeing hopefully a large field of mighty mods.

See You At The Races,
Sam
