$20,000 to Win RaceFest World Championship Sept 15-16 for the Lucas Oil Late Models

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will again be a part of the 2006 RaceFest World Championship on Friday and Saturday, September 15th and 16th at the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. Last year the series made its first ever appearance at the BDS Racing Promotions promoted facility with Earl Pearson, Jr. taking the win on his way to the 2005 series championship. This year's edition will fire up on Friday Night, September 15th with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Practice and Comp Cams Time Trials on the slate. On Saturday Night, September 16th the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns with PBM Performance Products Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-Mains and the $20,000 to win and $1,000 to start 75 Lap A-Main event. The rain date for this event will be Sunday, September 17th.

Heading into the 2-day festival of speed at West Virginia Motor Speedway, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL coming off of a career best $25,000 win in the “Hillbilly 100” at Tyler County (WV) Speedway, leads the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings over Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH, Matt Miller of Waterville, OH and Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN. Pearson leads O'Neal by 240 points heading to the Mountaineer State.

Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN coming off of a strong second place in the “Hillbilly 100” is sixth in points and is leading the "Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year" standings as well. Freddy Smith of Seymour, TN, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN, Michael England of Glasgow, KY and Darren Miller of Chadwick, IL are the top ten in the points coming into the RaceFest weekend.

West Virginia Motor Speedway is located south of Parkersburg, WV at the Mineral Wells exit 170 off of I-77. It is a 5/8ths mile clay oval. For more information you can log onto www.wvspeedway.com. There are advance tickets on sale currently and to order please call (304)758-2934.

The tire rule for this event will be the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Tire Rule with the following brands and compounds allowed: Hoosier LM20, 1300, LM40, 1600 and the shoulder plated D55, American Racer SD44 and MD 56 and the Goodyear G40 and G50. All soft compounds must durometer 40 prior to the race and all hard compounds must durometer 60 prior to the race. The SUPR and SAS branded Hoosier 1600 are not eligible for competition.
