CORONA, CA (September 11th, 2007)-After a weekend off the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series gets back into action this Saturday, September 15th at the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. The Annual "RaceFest World Championship" will be held at the 5/8ths mile speedplant with the winner taking home $20,000. The 75 lap event will pay $1,000 to start. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN is the defending winner of this event.
There will be a complete one day show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series with LifeLong Locks Time Trials followed by the Hawk Brake and Quarter Master sponsored heat races. The number of heat races will be determined by the number of entrants. Then following the heat race action will be the Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-mains followed by the 75 Lap "RaceFest World Championship" feature event. The rain date for the race is Sunday, September 16th.
Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL currently sits atop the Lucas Oil Late Model Championship Points standings with a 195 point lead over Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN. Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN, Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH and Terry English of Benton, KY round out the top five in the points with five races remaining on the schedule.
