2004 Season Information: Fayette County Speedway

BROWNSTOWN, IL – Fayette County Speedway, located on the Fayette County Fairgrounds along US Route 40 in Brownstown, IL, has another great season of racing planned for 2004! Fayette County Speedway is a high-banked, 3/8-mile dirt oval featuring Stock Car racing on Friday nights, April through August.

The 2004 Season’s second “play day” is Saturday, March 28 beginning at noon each day. Play Day Pit Passes are $10 and general admission to the grandstands is FREE for all ages. What is Play Day? It is practice day for the drivers. They test and tune their cars, work on their set-ups and generally have lots of fun after the long off-season.

The season officially gets underway with the Season Opener on April 2, 2004. During 2004, all Regular Events will have the following format: Gates open at 5:00 p.m., Hot Laps at 7:00 p.m., Modified Qualifying at 7:30 p.m., with racing immediately following the qualifying session. Weekly events will feature UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks, Bombers, Team Cars, and the Hornet class.

For the UMP Late Model fans, Fayette County Speedway’s 2004 Schedule includes three UMP Late Model special events: May 23, July 5, and August 22. You will definitely want to make it a point to attend the July 5 event when some of the Nation’s top dirt late model drivers will race for $6,000 to win. NOTE: Special admission prices will be charged at all shows featuring the UMP Late Models.

The 2004 Schedule also includes Special Events for the Street Stocks, Bombers, Team Cars, and Hornets. On May 30-31, the Season’s first two-day event will be held, paying $5,000 to win in the Street Stock division. The Bombers will be racing for $1,000 to win, Hornets for $500 to win and Team Cars will run a full show each day. Labor Day weekend will also feature a two-day show for the Street Stocks, Bombers, Team Cars, and Hornets. NOTE: Special admission prices will be charged for the two-day shows.
