(Warrensburg) Championship winners were announced at the end of the races in the Mighty Modified, 305 Sprint, Limited Late Model and Street Stock divisions Saturday night at CMS. Gary Blackburn continued his dominance with his second Points Championship in a row. He also dominated the weekly Mighty Modified feature with his fifth victory of the year. The 305 Sprint Points Championship went to a consistent top five finisher throughout the year, Michael Brown. Zackery Goulden, a first time-ever feature winner took the checkers for the 305 Sprint feature. In the Limited Late Model class, David Gemes was crowned the Points Champion again for this season. Jeff Schlup also dominated with his seventh Limited Late Model feature this season. The Street Stock Points Champion was Wayne Harper with five feature wins in 2005. And Jimmy Ngo won one of the most exciting Street Stock features of year with his first win at CMS.

The Street Stock race started with Jimmy Ngo in a front row position along with Gary Hemme. Ngo battled hard with Hemme early, but his biggest challenge came later on from Wayne Harper and Marc Carter. Numerous cautions behind Ngo caused the field to bunch up after several leads in lapped traffic. Ngo, Carter and Harper all ran a clean race and to the delight of the crowd, Ngo stayed out front and won his first feature this year. Several good battles behind the leaders included Hemme, Cole Wimmer, Tammy Korff and Chad Eickleberry for the fourth through seventh positions.

The Mighty Modifieds started and started and started again. After seven attempts they finally were able to start the feature with sixteen cars after twenty four were underway at the beginning. Dave Meyer up at the front of the pack along with Chad Lyle tangled with one another. Meyer received a flat tire and left the track after their encounter. Hard charger Dennis Walrath also left the track with several others after multiple starts without completing a single lap. Kyle Westerhold spun on another start after bouncing around in the pack. He along with Aaron Marrant, James Reid and Doug Walrath were all done for the evening after the unfortunate pile up.

After finally starting the race a good battle developed up front between Chad Lyle, Gary Blackburn and Joe Bradshaw. Blackburn passed Lyle on the high side for the lead after several laps and stayed up front for the remainder of the race. Joe Bradshaw also passed Lyle late in the race to finish second.

Another great run from the middle of the pack tonight was from Tim Karrick working his way up from fourteenth to a fourth place finish mainly using the high side. Another strange sight was watching Bobby Layne run the race in the orange and white Hershel Thompson 5K modified car.
