TO ALL COMPETITORS/PARTICIPANTS
Under the guideline of the 2009 DIRTcar Stock Car rules any and/or rules and as stated in the 2009 DIRTcar Rule Book, all DIRTcar rules applies to all divisions, except in instances where any local track rules, pertaining to any item are listed in the local track rules, whether that is in the technical components and/or the racing procedures and/or overall rules that are administered by the local track officials and management. In those instances and where applicable, the local track rules shall prevail.

Am I missing something, or does this paragraph still give tracks the option to run their own rules?

If so, whats the use in these?

I built a car to meet the 2008 UMP Street Stock class last year and traveled to Tri City during the UMP summer nationals and ran the UMP Street Stock class and got a DQ for not meeting the "TRACK RULES" ! Was not happy seeing how on all the flyers it stated UMP Street Stock, and the post by Revin on here, and I even called the track to make sure they were running by the UMP rules and I was told UMP Street Stock rules apply.

thats the problem with the ump rules...They state that TRACK RULES PREVAIL!!!
so whats the point to the ump rules...a place to start building general guidelines and then you must check track rules to be legal...Kinda ****s huh
