LEXINGTON, KY -- This Saturday, May 7th, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts heads to one of the most exciting tracks on the circuit, Sitka, KY's 201 Speedway.
It will be the series' sixth ever appearance at 201 Speedway located near Paintsville, KY. In the previous five O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series events at 201, there have been five different winners with 2002 O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Champion Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV, 2003 Series Champion Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN, 2004 Series Champion Aaron Hatton of Mt. Sterling, KY, Tyrel Todd of Eubank, KY, and Paul Harris of Prestonsburg, KY each finding victory lane.
Saturday night will feature a complete show for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series with Racing Optics Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, B-Mains and a 30 Lap O’Reilly Auto Parts A-Main paying $3000 to win.
After four races this season, the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts has had four different winners from four different states with Rick Combs (Sardinia, OH), Dan Schlieper (Sullivan, WI), Scott James (Bright, IN), and Shannon Babb (Moweaqua, IL) each notching a O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series win this season.
Going into the May 7th event at 201 Speedway, Scottsburg, IN veteran Mike Jewell leads the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series points chase followed by Rick Combs, Michael England, Scott James, and Whitney McQueary. Tim Tungate, Chris Combs, John Gill, Aaron Hatton, and Chuckie May complete the top 10. Rick Combs is leading the Rookie of the Year standings followed by Chris Combs, Wayne Chinn, Frankie Coomer, and Jordan Bland. The O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series continues to average over 50 cars per event in 2005.
