CORONA, CA (September 16, 2009) - The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to action on Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th at Brownstown (IN) Speedway for the 30th Annual "Jackson 100". The famed event will pay $20,000 to win. The event will be run topless for the late model competitors for the first time in history of the event, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the "Jackson 100".

"It is our signature event of the year and we wanted to do something a little bit different since this is the 30th Jackson 100," said promoter Tim Keithley.

Preliminary action will get underway on Friday Night, September 25th with Hot Laps and PRC Time Trials for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. On Saturday Night, September 26th, there will be the Heat Races, B-Mains, and the 100-lap 30th Annual Jackson 100 paying $20,000 to win. Tim McCreadie of Watertown, NY is the defending race winner and plans on returning to Brownstown to defend his title.

With four points paying events left for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, the Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway is a critical race for the drivers still juggling for final positioning in the Lucas Oil Championship Points' Standings. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN; who is seeking his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series title, holds a 200-point lead over fellow Bloomquist Race Cars pilot, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN.

Bloomquist enters the event at Brownstown also still searching for his first series win of the season. The Jackson may presents a good chance of seeing the Hall of Famer in victory lane, as he has enjoyed success at Brownstown before. He has won seven events in his career at the Jackson County, Indiana quarter-mile oval. Owens, with four series wins is tied with Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC and Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA for the most on the series tour for 2009.

Trailing Bloomquist and Owens in the top five is Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA; and 3-time Jackson 100 winner, Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN.

Cook leads the remainder of the top ten in points heading to Brownstown followed by Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY; Steve Casebolt of Richmond, IN; John Blankenship of Williamson, WV; and Eric Jacobsen of Seacliffe Beach, CA.

Blankenship who also drives a Team Zero Bloomquist Race Cars Chassis leads the "Quarter Master" Rookie of the Year chase over David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS and Michael Walker of Franklin, TN.

Lucas Oil Series drivers faired quite well at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway for the 39th Annual World 100 on September 12th as nine of the top eleven in this year's championship point's standings made the prestigious event.

The tire rule for the 30th Annual Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway will be; American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56 and Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1600, LM20 and LM40. No crate tires will be allowed.

Brownstown Speedway will hold a special open practice session on Thursday Night, September 24th. For information on the 30th Annual Jackson 100, go to the tracks website at www.brownstownspeedway.com.

There will be a preview of the Jackson 100 on the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour on Tuesday Night, September 22nd on www.racecastlive.com. The one-hour live internet show will begin at 8:00 PM Eastern/7:00 PM Central.
