Is any one going to show up at bedrock to race the outlaw 5 horse class or what?mike or his son ?or any one who was at the rules meeting?just trying to decide if i should sell some 5 horses.
 
Carl, Are you running an Open 5hp Briggs? or 10hp Star??Do they run them together or separate?What did you work out for weight requirements?Last ? What became of the BlueWazoom??

doug i missed the first nite,but i have one of each. scott and i just curious who was going to come and race,they ran two classes first nite i heard.last race no 5 horses,you going to show up doug?we had fun last race.I think it just depends how many show up if the five horse class i going to make it.would sure like to see ya there.no real decisions made at rule meeting, a lot of talk by people who dont race or dont intend to race just put there two cents in.any way it would be nice to have some sort of guide lines to get cost at a resonable level and more intrest in this class .but thats a whole problem in its self!
 
Carl, I'm not sure what or where i'll race yet.It's a shame the powers that be can't write down some guidelines or rules to go by.The $$ matter is a whole other problem.Unfortunetly I can't afford or justify spending $4000 on a kart engine!!But that's what we're up against with this group.Lucky for (poor)me,the folks @ JYI aren't as wealthy,so I can be competative most of the time.But this doesn't mean I won't show up some Fri. nights,run in the back,and try to stay out of there way.Just my 2 cents. :(
 
scott built my motor for less than $2000 and i got second last week. I think i can win with it or i wouldnt be out there.its not all about the biggest motor.there were bigger more expensive motors out there.
 
Carl ran 2nd I ran third last race & I can gaurantee Carl doesn't have A $4000 dollar engine I think it was more like $1500! I have about $2200 in mine, I dont think its all engine think its more about setup than horse power!!!! I ran 90% of last year with a briggs against ten horses & I was very competitive.
 
I agree with both of you about the setup over horse power thing.But when you run into the MegaMotor bolted to a well setup kart,90% of the time you'll be bringing up the rear.Are the 5's & 10's running together? Are both of you running Brigg's??Just trying to be prepared before I get there.
 
I dont know either doug.thats why i was asking.I could change motors at track for either class. I guess well see what looks more fun for that nite.we could talk about this till your blue in the face.but its all about what people have already as far as engines,some have 5 horses and some stars it going to be the class with the most that makes it.
 
Doug we have both we are able to change either at the track, as of now there are two classes there has been more 10's than briggs. so far briggs are in a class alone, 2 strokes & 10's in a class together.we bring both because you never know whoo's going to show up.
 
sorry guys i couldn't add another kart to the class i still have mine for sale and i guess if no one buys it maybe i will come back down and run but just cost to much to get everything i need again to race since i sold everything last year but who knows what will happen but good luck to the guys that don't have the 4 grand to spend shoot i only had 2,800 in my whole set up but like you guys said hp doesn't always matter.
