5th Annual MOWA Illinois Sprint Week Launches in 1 Week
By Patrick Davis- The 5th Annual MOWA Illinois Sprint Week is here for the Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey’s General Store is upon us. In the previous 4 years, the series has been to a total of 7 different tracks. That total will go up to 8 on night 1 when the tour kicks off.
It kicks off in a BIG way Thursday, July 23rd at Quincy Raceways. In what is slated to be the biggest night in the 41 year history of the track. This is the first time Quincy has hosted an Illinois Sprint Week event. The series joins up with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for a Sprint/Late Model doubleheader. Christopher Bell, Rico Abreu, and Steve Kinser are also slated to compete against MOWA’s top talent.
The following night, Friday, July 24th the series makes it’s 4th stop in MOWA Illinois Sprint Week history at Tri-City Speedway. So far, in the 3 previous years, there has been 3 different winners. The St. Louis area speed plant has produced great racing every time MOWA has raced there, and this should be no different.
Saturday night, July 25th MOWA gets its fifth mile smile on at the 1/5 mile Macon Speedway. This will be the 4th MOWA IL Sprint Week event hosted by the track, as last year’s scheduled event was rained out. It will be an elbows up night unlike any other. It is a unique challenge MOWA only takes on once a year.
Sunday night, July 26th Jacksonville Speedway will play host to the 5th Annual MOWA Illinois Sprint Week Finale. The traditional Friday night date has shifted to Sunday for the 2015 edition. The previous 2 attempts for IL Sprint Week at the ¼ mile have been a wash.
The season as a whole for the Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey’s General Store has been perhaps the most competitive and unpredictable in series history. With 7 different winners in 8 events raced so far, parody has been a common theme. It will be no surprise to see this trend continue on into IL Sprint Week. We look forward to seeing everyone for this exciting 4 night stretch of 410 winged sprint car racing in the Land of Lincoln!
