We have a great reason to have a great weekend. June 25-26 at BelleClair Speedway we will be presenting 2 nights of great racing with a lot of other fun stuff thrown in.
Friday, June 25 will be a regular full show with Midgets and Micros doing the racing and added attractions of Vintage Race Cars, introducing a new Knepper driver to keep the tradition going, interviews with some Old Timers and it is also St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club Night with free admission FC for members.
Saturday will be a whole new effort for POWRi. Kenny Brown has enlisted the aid of Eileen vonHatten to put together a commemorative day to celebrate the 75th anniversary. The grounds will open at 3:00 p.m. for fans to enjoy the FanFest Midway with displays of Vintage Race Cars coming in from Indiana plus some local restorations--Race Simulators to play with--I-70 Quarter Midget guys will have their tent and show car--Bruce Loyd will be doing a remote radio broadcast--the St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club will enjoy their 3rd Annual Fan Club Members ONly get together with food and memorabilia--the new POWRi Apparel Trailer will be there with the newest and best in driver t-shirts and die cast and a whole bunch of other stuff and Driver Meet and Greet Sessions. Free admission to the grounds for everyone.
The ticket office for the races will open at 4:00 p.m. for the races which will be topped of with a 75 lap midget feature. If you've seen 30 midget laps at BV then just think how exciting 75 will be. Race admission both nights will be $15 for adults and kids under 6 free with adult admission.
IN ADDITION to all this, how would you like to have a chance to take a ride on the track in Jack Hewitt's 2 seater sprint car? We are working on it--keep your fingers crossed!
Eileen is working on a beautiful full color, glossy, Souvenir Race Program with information, photos, copies of old programs and newsclippings that you can purchase that weekend for $2.
