Your Typer and Talker
Hello to everyone over there on the east side...
I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck in the upcoming season and give you some details on the website situation... I know it's probably the least of all worries at this point in time, considering the situation with the tower and lighting system, but perhaps our most outstretched and extensive form of advertisment of big river sand drags is done online. And thus far, the only central hub we have is stlracing.com.
I'm frustrated more than anything, because I'm in one hell of a perdicament. The track needs and deserves a website, and I am more than willing to build and maintain one... (in fact, it's already been built... there are just minor details that need to be filled to make it fully functional)... But building attractive, functional, and spam-free websites takes time and money. And ever since January 1st, I've made the purchases and paid the service fees ... and and actually built a damn fine website. I want to polish it up and open it to the public ASAP... only one problem... I've yet to recieve the payments that were promised... so, now I'm sitting here without the money to keep the webspace to the nice site I've worked on... and I'm not going to be burdened with the payments each month along with the maintenence responsiblities! It's just silly.
Like I said... I know it's not the track's top priority right now, and I can respect that. But I do still have money owed me and even though it's not anywhere near an absurd amount, it grows little by little each month. So, I suppose I'd just like to urge the racers and race fans out there, as well as the owners, to get the website funding out of the way before the season starts so we can have a great advertisement tool to ensure a great 2006 Racing Season.
Thanks for listening,
Nick
