heres a few pics for the guys wanting to see the new "tower of power" lol.. anyway, it's a vert to horiz converted 438cc Tecumseh OHV ..hopefully it will make 15hp!!!!

is that the flowmaster exhause pipe off your truck, if it is that outlaw engine should put out even more power. I might have to look into getting one of those engines if their cheap enough

haha..that's not the trucks exhaust..yet??? anyway, i don't have the flywheel made yet, maybe in the next couple days i'll have it done? i doubt we will have it all buttoned-up by this weekend. we'll more likely be there in the next show after. Pb, i am finding a ""Big Brriggs" to build for you ;)

a few specs on engine:
438cc OHV Tecumseh mower engine
heavily ported/reshaped head 1.5" intake 1.25' exh flows 151cfm@.500 lift
Custom ground cams .465 and .575 lift for development
Roller rocker arms
Billett connecting rod
oil pressure fed & rerouted for horizontal app.
Automotive based ignition system using 2 7.2v rc batteries for power
Keihin 44mm pumper carb converted to alcohol
intergrated engine relocation mount/chassis mount
i had to make 99% parts inhouse due to nothing available for this set-up...that's basically it, I really hope to make 40hp+ when done?

too much motor for dustin

if you want that much power, you ought to move up to sprints or stock cars. lol thats way too much motor for Dustin, he can't drive a stock gokart. lol Brandon will drive it if he can't just kidding. good luck on finishing it

haha..no sprints/stock cars here. better to have loaded gun not needed than needed gun not loaded!!!!!!!!
 
outlaw engines

good luck hooking up 40 hp on tracks around here. i have 3 tecumse 10 hp engines. one is 22hp,one is 24hp and one is 28+hp. won more features with the 22hp engine, never took the 28+ hp engine out of the trailer all year.:D
 
i have a digital timing controller to back it down a little or a lot.. i just see Tec stars at coulterville kicking *** when theres moisture in the track and, just figure why wouldn't 10 or more hp be better>? i'm sure good ones are 30ish hp? Heck, maybe i'ts only going to make 20hp anyway? no dyno test yet? i might have to bring out the sister engine that's 500cc just to keep up? i think it should be close to 25hp.;) either way, i guess we'll see when we get there..remember that my son has only raced stockers for a year so, i have thought a lot of what needs to be done..hince the timing controller.

hey ron dont mean to bust your thread up here, but do you have a fuel tank for a Flathead we can borrow for this weekend...brandons is messed up and needs replaced....let me know..thanks

Well Josh, yes and no. I let Dustin take it for a spin down the road Sunday and he jumped on the gas for a couple seconds then turned around, done the same and the chain broke, engine revved to 9100rpm! ...on a good note nothing broke on the engine and the throttle responce is really good, maybe too good for dirt? Anyway, i just picked up my chromemoly tubing to make a little better pushrods so, possibly dyno Saturday?
BTW> as far as the test ride went, It was no fun like you and the boys had Saturday night from what i hear!!!!! lol...

thats nothing compared to the sheriff showing up on sunday...lol.......

Opening in april.....Hoffman roadcourse....pitting allowed in the hoffman house parking lot!!!! More to come later!

I bet Dustin's eyes were as big as oranges when he hit the gas!:eek: I know mine would have been!! LOL!! just a tad more power than we are used to.
I bet your tire bill for 2009 is going up! I would like to see what that thing does to a set of T3's on a summer day at waynecity or B'Rive!!!
I know it will be FUN.....to WATCH!!!:D;) Do you want to borrow our oversized sprint car steering wheel?????:):) It MAY be a handfull!!!LOL
p.s. Brian and I are hog tying you and Dustin, so we know you will be at duquoin on the 24th!!!!:p:eek::cool:
