Cory and Jill want everyone to know just how thankful they are about the excitement over the Modified Mania Show this weekend.

The idea for the show came last week, while trying to think of something to take the place of "cheaters night". It took Cory less than 24 hours to have a group of sponsors willing to put on the $1500 to win show for the modifieds. He couldn't believe how so many businesses stepped up to make the show happen so quickly. Everyone he talked to was just so excited and wanted to do their part to make the show.

Now with the sponsorship money from other businesses and fans that puts this show at over $5900 in total prize money and it is expected that by Saturday evening at show time it will be over the $6000 mark total purse!!

To all the Fans, Drivers and Sponsors who have made this event happen, THANK YOU!!!! It is their plans to make this an annual event at SFCR and hope the show grows to be as successful as the Queens Royale.

This show will easily be as successful as the Queens Royale!!! I think it's WONDERFUL/GREAT/SUPER/FANTASTIC (etc, etc, etc) that everyone has come together for this show. I'm looking forward to it. I only have ONE complaint.......quick change rearends should NOT be allowed!! If it was a weekly rule at the track, I could understand, but you are gonna have a special show at these guys HOME track (the guys that support SFCR EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND) and then let other guys come in w/quick changes. And I know enough about racing (and what I don't know, I ask) to know that no matter what anyone gets on here and says, these do make a difference!!!!

Other than that, I'm excited for the show!!! Special thanks to Mikey and Michelle for all their hard work getting more sponsors for this show. What a great group of people. Also, thanks to everyone else who has helped and/or continues to help and/or donate to the Modified Mania. Like I said, I think it will easily be as big (if not bigger) than the Queens Royale. JMO!

Quick Change Rearends

Benton allowed QC rearends to race, however they would not let them change gears after hot laps. Benton kept a close eye on this and would check after each race. Still hard on the local guys but did even it out somewhat.

That sounds like at least SOMETHING that could be done! Does still make it hard on the local guys but might make the playing field a little bit more even.

From my understanding, quickchange rearends do not help the performance of the car, it only makes it easier to change gears. So the guys that have been running there should know what gear to run. I don't know, that's what I was told.? Either way I don't see it being an issue for this race. The local guys should know their way around the track a lot better than a visiting car. Letting all mods compete is what will make this show a huge success. I'm looking forward to the next 2 races, they should be awesome.

It actually does help the performance of the car!!! I have been told this by SEVERAL drivers and MANY who know about racing. I guess only time will tell. The local boys probably do know what gear to run, but with a quick change rearend, they can run EXACTLY what they want (something that might be closer but isn't possible with the 9" rearend).
