Added Incentives To Turkey Bowl VI At Springfield For Late Models, A Mods

Springfield, Mo.- There will be some added incentive when the Springfield Raceway opens the gates for the KMJ Performance Turkey Bowl VI presented by Dirt Works Race Cars on Saturday November 17th as Wehrs Machine and Performance Bodies have stepped up to add some extra for a Late Model and A Modified Driver.
Performance Bodies of Cedar Falls, Iowa will be offering a $500 bonus to the A Modified driver who is leading lap number 4 in the KMJ Performance Turkey Bowl VI in the memory of Mike Clark of Dirt Works Race Cars.
Clark, a former racer, bought the Dirt Works Modified Race Cars in 1991 and moved it to his hometwon of Walker, Missouri. From there, Clark brought Modified racing to a new higher level and helped many different racers along in their career and kept drivers on the track week after week. Clark, a very soft spoken gentleman was well known by drivers, tracks, and everyone in the racing industry, but more important everyone close by in his home town of Walker, Missouri. The Springfield Raceway will be having a special flag to wave on lap 4 of the Turkey Bowl VI feature along with asking everyone to hold 4 fingers up in memory of this leader of Modified racing. The KMJ Performance Turkey Bowl VI at the Springfield Raceway will feature 4 classes battling as Late Models, A Modifieds, B Modifieds, and Legend Cars. Late Models compete for $2,000 to win and $350 to start, A Modifieds with No Rear Spoiler race for $1200 to win and $450 to start, B Modifieds dice it out for $850 to win and $110 to start while Legends race for $300 to win and $35 to start. The Pit gates will open at 10:30 with drivers meeting at 12:40. Hot laps will begin at 1PM and Racing action starts at 3PM. Drivers draw cut-off will be at 2PM. Late arrivials may start tailback in a heat race but will recieve no passing points, only the heat points. Pit passes are $35 while Car Entry Fees are $100 for both the Late Models and A Modifieds, $40 for B Modifieds and no car entry for Legends.
Grandstand gates open at 1PM and Adult admission is only $20 for the final race of 2012 at Springfield Raceway. Kids prices are $5 for ages 6-12 and under 6 Free.

is this the first year its been moved to the week before Thanksgiving ?....we went 3 years ago and i'm sure it was the Saturday after ??...was hopin to make it again this year but, its deer season, afraid we wont
 
yes it is-----weather has really been a pain in the 5 years with this event--so 1 week earlier and then if weather gets you still have the following week.
