KNOXVILLE, IA — April 25, 2008 — The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa has been postponed one week due to inclement weather, including a mixture of rain, sleet and snow that has left track officials insufficient time to prepare the racing surface.
The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 3, setting up an exciting weekend of racing for the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series that will test the drivers versatility, beginning on Friday, May 2 at U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, Missouri, which is one of just two tracks on the World of Outlaws schedule that sees the drivers turn sub 10-second laps, on the ultra high-banked and blazing fast 3/8-mile.
The event at Knoxville Raceway on May 3 will serve as the season opening event at the famed half-mile, with a very strong field of cars expected. Along with the 19 full-time World of Outlaws competitors that will be in action, the full contingent of drivers that will be competing weekly in the Knoxville Championship Cup Series will also be in attendance.
The month of May will be a busy one for the World of Outlaws, with 13 events scheduled at 12 different tracks in 11 states over a four week stretch, including the series first East Coast swing of the season, which will encompass three events that will be broadcast on SPEED, including the Rite Aid Outlaws Showdown from The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Friday, May 23, which will air LIVE.
