allied should be ashamed of them selfs

If anyone should be ashamed of themselves it should be Korte for hitting and wrecking people just to get around them...just my opinion.
As for the Ed Dixon and Kiefer situation it is kind of hard to take someone out when the driver that spun out is behind you...it was called good hard racing which we don't see much of anymore. Kiefer getting black flagged was his own fault if he would have just went to the back like they put him he wouldn't have been black flagged but because he was acting like a cry baby and had to be stupid...he deserved to be black flagged.

Looked to me like car in front bobbled and everyone started piling up. Ed tried getting around it and walla..pile up. Happens.

PARKERSBURG, W. Va. (July 6, 2002) - Randy Korte of Highland, IL scored his first career United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series victory Saturday night in the Charter Communications Family 50 at West Virginia Motor Speedway. Korte led all 50 laps in the Mid-Continental Fuel Rocket/Pro Power Grand Prix and held off a late-race by Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA.

McDowell closed to within a car-length on the final lap, but Korte was able to use a lapped car to slow McDowell's momentum and secure the $10,000 win.

"We've been running well during the past couple of weeks, and West Virginia Motor Speedway is one of my favorite tracks, so I told the crew I was going to save this car for here," Korte said. "We started out good here right out of the truck, and the car worked great all night long, and that's what you have to have to win races in this series."

McDowell settled for second in the Larry Shaw Race Cars Rocket/Custom Grand Prix and the 1999 UDTRA Champion took over the point lead from Rick Eckert of York, PA by one point. The defending UDTRA Champion Eckert finished third in the Raye Vest Rocket/Cornett Taurus, and set fast time among the 33 entrants.

Eckert picked up the two bonus points by turning a lap around the 5/8-mile clay oval in 21.095 seconds for an average speed of 106.660 miles per hour.

Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY moved up to the fourth spot in his McDonalds Swartz/Cropper Monte Carlo, after the apparent fourth-place car Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH was disqualified for being light at the scales after the race. Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL finished fifth in the Lucas Oil/Dunn-Benson Ford Rocket/Eatmon Taurus.

Tim Hitt of Weston, WV took the sixth spot in the Morehead Auto Parts GRT/Russell Baker Monte Carlo. Steve Francis of Ashland, KY was seventh in the Valvoline/Mopar Parts Rocket/Stanton Intrepid. Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN drove the Charter Communications/Crown Fiber GRT/Gaerte Grand Prix to an eighth place finish.

Randle Chupp of Mooresville, TN finished ninth in the Biscotti's Restaurant and Winery/Park Ohio Rocket/Draime Grand Prix, and Matt Miller of Waterville, OH rounded out the top ten in the McCullough Motorsports Rocket/Russell Baker Grand Prix.

Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI in the Jimmy Mars Racing Mastersbilt/Pro Power Monte Carlo, Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH in the Ostrom Painting and Sandblasting Rocket/Malcuit Grand Prix and Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN shared the Advance Auto Parts Hard Charger of the Race Award, and Ogle was the Lucas Oil Rookie of the Race with an 18th-place finish.

Korte took the lead from his outside front row starting spot and never looked back, as McDowell, Eckert and Hartman followed. McDowell was able to close in the late stages of the race, but Korte was able to use the outside running lapped car of Chuck Harper of Beverly, WV to slow McDowell's momentum on the final lap coming down for the checkered flag.

McDowell won the Scott Performance Wire $50 Bonus with a first 8-lap heat race win, Korte won the second heat, and Boggs picked up the JE Pistons $100 Bonus Award with a third heat race win. Mark Banal of St. Clairsville, OH won the 10-lap Polaris ATVs Consolation Race in the Banal Racing Rocket/Malcuit Monte Carlo.

The next event for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series is on July 13 at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD.

The next UDTRA Dirty Thursday will air on August 1 at 11 p.m. ET with the 4th Annual Masters 75 from Cedar Lake Speedway. For the complete UDTRA SPEED Channel schedule and a direct feedback link, visit the UDTRA web site at www.udtra.com.

THAT JUST HAPPENED!

As I said I COULD BE WRONG in my last post. but Dixon in the Hof. Ding dongs not. But don't mind me as I flap my lips .

ive never really cared for him hes a rough driver not as rough as he used to be , but still rough . ive seen him take out many of people . but what race that really put the thumbs down was in the late 90s steve shive was winning the feature and we all know steve was nice guy a lil to nice at sometimes , well korte decides to do a slide job starting on the front stretch and see if he can make it coming out of 2 without hitting him . didn't work slammed right into him shive went into the back stretch wall car was junk , also the time him and Walsh got into it just took him out with no worries .. i agree korte is the hottest driver at pevely and trycity ... but no one has the equipment that his team has in this area, when bobby pierce came he spanked him , when ryan unzicker came to try city spanked him . its jmo i know alot of people who will agree with me . i can come to terms that my guy isnt the top dog anymore i can understand. you cant be the best for ever but at the end of the day when u put the wins, accomplishments together whose on top ?

it would be nice if Collins and billy Faust ran full time i think they would put a lil pressure on korte every week for billy Faust he was good and had alot of talent. i believe korte took over that ride billy had .

How can you compete with someone who has very deep pockets?? The local guys tried to be competitive but how can you compete with someone who has the backing??? When Bobby Pierce comes to I55 he takes the feature why is that? Bobby is only 15. So if you have the (best) equipment that they do what can anyone who races against them do? You just hope they have trouble and you have a chance on winning the feature. Its all about who has the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!! Nuff said!!

Dixon1...
excellent post. Thanks for responding back.

Both of these guys are excellent racers, both have won big races locally and nationally. Unfortunately the 50 does not have the equipment he used to, but they are getting better each week. So Richie you asked why Ben does not like Korte, why do you not like Dixon? And by the way if Randy had not gotten sick, I believe he would still be winning races nationally. He is a good wheelman.

Its not that I don't like your dad, I just thought he drove reckless last Saturday night. After reading some of these posts I may have been wrong. Ed and Randy always make it exciting and they're the main reason I go to the tracks. Turned out to be a crummy feature though, there must have been at least 8 cautions...2 to 3 green flag laps before the next caution. Go Ed....Go Randy!
