Little Rock, AR (April 16, 2007) - The Day Motorsports Arkansas Motorsports Professional Series presented by American Racer or "AMP Series" has been invited to a challenge of sorts via our friends across the river. The race night is amply being dubbed as the "Battle on the River".
The date, May 4, 2007, is part of the wildly successful Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series or MSCCS, which is ran at various tracks across the Magnolia State. The race format will be ran under the host association rules, however, competitors may pick what tire rule they wish to compete under.
"We feel allowing the drivers to choose between one tire rule or the other will help increase the car count" said AMP Series Director Christy Hudson. She further went on to say that she believes it will be a successful event and hopefully one they can continue in the future.
Track and AMP Series officials have confirmed two additional dates as well, both July 14th and September 22nd have been added for the 2007 tour. The July 14th date will be ran under AMP Series format. Track owner Wesley Washington has graciously agreed to provide all AMP contenders with use of the transponders, required by the speedway, courtesy of the track and at no charge to the competitors.
You can expect a strong field on hand for this one including MSCCS regulars Scott Slay, Bub McCool, Chris Wall, Anothony Rushing, Mike Boland, and David Breazeale.
The AMP will field a strong contingent in the likes of Little Rock’s Terry Henson and AMP Rookie of the Year contender Joseph Long, Dewaine Hottinger and Jon Kirby (ROY contender) of Russellville, Batesville’s very own John "Catman" Mitchell, Kyle Beard, and Gary Scott Christian both also contenders for Rookie of the Year honors.
Additional information on Greenville Speedway can be found on their website at www.greenvillespeedway.net or by contacting track owner Wesley Washington at (662) 822-7071.
