An idea I've got

One of the things I really wanted to do the past couple of years and never got to it was some special things for the kids, especially while school was still in session.

What I propose is for us to have a special "Kids Day" at the track BEFORE the start of the season. Say sometime in March on a Saturday afternoon, we hold a COMPLETELY FREE EVENT for all the area kids who would like to come and learn to race their ATVs. We could give away some hot dogs and soda to all the kids who participate. Maybe we can even find a sponsor and I can have some t-shirts made to give away to the kids who participate. Make it a day where the kids can come in and learn how to race. Find out the proper way of doing things and have some of our kids (like Allie and the Farris boys) help to instruct them. Make a special day of it and at the end hold a free race for all the first time people only. I'd be more than happy to donate a little trophy or plaque and even the hot dogs if need be. But let's make it fun for our kids!! Get them and mommy and daddy and brother and sister and grandma and grandpa out there to watch them. Once they see how fun and safe it is they will come back time and time again throughout the summer.
But the main idea is a learning experience on what to expect with the lights, how to start, how to race and how to be safe doing it.
 
I think that is a good idea Jeff. I can get my cousin Eric and probably a couple others kids to help also. All of us can try to get kids from our schools to come. We should be able to get some kids from schools all around with as many people that race. I'll do whatever I can to help.

That's an awesome idea, Jeff. If you can get it scheduled between March 18th and March 25th, I'll be able to attend. I'd be more than willing to set up and run the lights (pro bono).

Just let me know.

Well, Jeff, you already know I am all for this event. As soon as we get the owners to approve it (which I don't believe will be difficult), we should start planning/promoting this immediately! I'll start jotting some things down and we can finalize everything on Feb. 18th. Call me!

Did anyone ever find out if we are going to do this? I already have friends that said they would come if they knew when it was. :confused:

We Will Be Discussing This On Saturday As You Said But Please Keep In Mind That We Have No Electricity At The Track At All At This Time And Probably Will Not Until We Get Way Closer To Opening Day/night Due To The Fact That We Are Working On The Lights And Also One More Thing To Keep In Mind Is The Insurance I Can Not Start The Insurance Almost A Month Before The Money Starts Coming In We Are Talking Losing A Big Amount Of Money For This Even That I Think Sounds Wonderful But Jeff Did Bring This To Me And I Told Him My Reservations On It And I Had Hoped That He Hadnt Already Posted Anything On The Site (we Have Spoken About That) Before Giving Us The Chance To Say Yes Or No.....so I Am Sorry To Be The One To Have To Tell You That At This Time We Can Not Plan Or Promote Anything Until We Find Out About The Electricity And Also Please Keep In Mind That Will Put Us Paying Insurance For A Full Month Of No Incoming Money......so We Will Discuss This At The Meeting More Effectively And How It Should Be Discussed And Then We Will Let Everyone Know Then
 
Well folks, we discussed the possibility of having the kids day and at this time we have no choice but to simply postpone this event until we have had a chance to get other things in order and prepare for our upcoming season. We truly appreciate everyone's enthusiasm toward this idea and we hope that you will provide feedback for us in our future endeavors. Please do not be discouraged or disappointed as we are only postponing, not eliminating, this event.
