sorry for my english , and if you dont know what i mean they dont read my post.

Racing in the 70's and 80's had only 5-10 drivers that could win on a weekly basis.
Today, a good 20-25 drivers have could win any week.

Enough already!

everyone has their own opinions

THIS IS TRUE! EVERYONE DOES HAVE THEIR OWN OPINIONS. SO WHY DOES IT SEEM THE NON FLATTERING ONES ARE UPSETTING YOU? HOW BORING WOULD IT BE IF WE ALL AGREED AND HAD THE SAME VIEW OF THINGS.

THAT "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN" ANSWER IS LAME. ANY FACTION WHETHER IT BE NASCAR OR LOCAL JOE BLOW PROMOTER OR OFFICIAL OUGHT TO CARE WHAT THEIR PATRONS, VIEWERS OR RACERS THINK. AS LONG AS THEY ADDRESS IT PROPERLY.

AS FAR AS I'M CONCERN ABOUT NASCAR, IS THEY NEED TO REALIZE WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. YES THE RATINGS AND MONEY HAVE NEVER BEEN BETTER. BUT DON'T OUT GROW YOUR ROOTS AND FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND WHAT GOT YOU THERE. CASE IN POINT, THE RACE THEY SWITCHED FROM DARLINGTON TO CALIFORNIA. THAT RACE WAS A LONG STANDING TRADITION. CHANGED FOR A REASON NOT WORTHY OF LOSING IT OVER. J/M/O

Unfortunately NASCAR is a business that is flourishing due to the decisions made by Brian France and the like. Like it or not, the decisions that have been made were made for a reason. And that is to put butts in seats and keep ratings high which in turn keeps money flowing.

I don't see where NASCAR has done things much different than anything else. If you look at any major professional sport you see changes happening all the time. At one time you wouldn't find helment in baseball, football, or hockey. Now everyone wears one. And why? Cause there's a reason for everything that happens.

I for one have been enjoying NASCAR for the last few years. Sure, there are some races that aren't as exciting as others but overall I enjoy them all!

I'm not a Formula One fan, for that matter unless it's on dirt I don't care for any open wheel racing. But you won't hear me bashing it just because I don't like it. Instead I use my thoughts and time to compliment the racing that I enjoy instead of posting negative threads about how boring something is.

In other words, if all we have to do on Sunday is complain about how boring the NASCAR race was, maybe it's time to find another Sunday afternoon activity. Maybe find a fresh towel and lock yourself in the bathroom for 4 or 5 hours and let the rest of us enjoy what we like while you do your thing!

In regards to your comment I think you'll have a hard time convincing NASCAR that your views and opinions would make their sport better. Seems to me that NASCAR is more popular now than it has ever been and that has to say something for what their patrons, viewers, and racers are thinking.

And that's JMO!

I dont see what the deal is with everyone saying that "NASCAR needs to remember where it came from." Todays economy is fluctuating like crazy and in order for NASCAR to keep up with the "Monday Night FootBAll's" and all of the other sporting events that create an evergrowing market means that NASCAR needs to figure new marketing techniques in order to keep it alive. Im sure that they know were they came from, look who promotes the sport, driver that have been involved from day one like: Petty, Ned Jarret, and Darrell Walltrip and many other old school guys. People should keep in mind that the sport knows were it came from, but it also needs to spark intrest in new viewers or else the sport will stay locked in time. If you say that the racing isnt good, then what is better than 4 wide at Daytona at 190 MPH.

With some of the changes they have made this year, shorter spoilers, different tires ,ect. It has put Nascar back to its roots. " Back in the hands of the driver "........ What more could we as viewers ask for ? :)

I Just Think Nascar Should Keep Some Tradition. Some Of These Track Have Been There From The Beginning. Instead Of Eliminatting Some Tracks, They Should Take A Date From Some That Have 2. Before Its Over, All The Races Will Be At Tracks Owned By Isc.

In 1984 Ford debuted the Thunderbird coupe. Bill Elliot used it to win just about everthing. GM cried and whined to NASCAR saying that the Ford had an advantage. Big Bill responded "Well, ya'all better get back to your drafting boards then". Next year GM came out with the (now highly coveted) bubble-back Monte Carlo and Grand Prix. In today's enviroment, any advantage that a clever engineer could come up with would be negated as soon as NASCAR could fax out the spoiler height rule change notice.

NASCAR (as a group) is only doing two things wrong.

#1 is that they are trying VERY hard to appeal to as many fans as possible. The effort to not offend anyone has diluted all the "flavor" (for lack of a better term) out of the sport. NASCAR is not trying to grow RACING fans, they are trying to grow NASCAR fans. The problem with that is that sooner or later, most of these fans will get bored with it all, and move on to some other sport or diversion. Eventually, something louder and flashier will come along. I dunno maybe Extreme Full-Contact Badmitten or something. And the popularity house of cards that NASCAR built for itself will collapse like, er.. A House Of Cards.

The other error is also the direct cause of error #1. The key people in NASCAR are no longer racers, but marketing folks. NASCARS only goal and focus should be to sanction stock car auto racing. But in case you missed it, that has quietly slipped to their second priority. Their first priority now is to grow NASCAR bigger. The current rulers of NASCAR sit quietly in their seats of power and compare their numbers to those of the WWE and NFL and the like.

This spawns rediculous events such as the ill-fated NASCAR RACERS cartoon show, and having a senior official say, in a interview, that "their goal is to provide the best product and experience for their fans" (direct quote). Not Racing fans... THEIR (NASCAR'S) fans. And what product? NASCAR does not manufacture or supply ANYTHING.

Mark my words, this bubble will eventually burst. The casual fans will leave, and NASCAR marketing strategy will be to try convince the core fans that NASCAR is getting back to its roots.

The Tim has spoken!
