Any interest in Animals at Bedrock?

no it wasnt the track favorite

it was the watermelon race and it was grandon lovelace and we were glad it was him that won cause he is a great friend of ours but i just think in the jr class it is gonna be tuff to do

One more time........

If you own an animal and are looking for a place to race bring them to Bedrock...3 karts makes a class according to the published rules.

The thought of mixing the restricted classes is not being considered.

Again.....the thread is focused on starting an animal class at Bedrock.

there is 3 or 4 of us that have limited animals would we have to run with the opens and if so would we get any weight breaks. Thanks

I am dusting off the equipment

Well put Justin.

If there are animals that are going to run with the flatties at Bedrock, I think a decision should be made as to what plate is going to be run on the animals in each class. We need to get it figured out before the start of season. If the decision is made then the animals and flatties will be able to run together on the first night. If we wait until opening night, it's going to be a total CF!!!!

Is Andy Hicks coming out of retirement? :D

Yes I will be racing this year I sold the nemesis to someone I know that wanted to get his kid racing this year. I will be helping them and racing myself. My animal already has the gold plate in it as it was run in the gold plate animal class so I hope this is the plate used to mix the classes. It will not be hard to tell if mixing will work. If a bad handling animal is keeping up with and good handling flatty then more needs to be done (add weight). We want to make it cheaper to race and it defiantly is cheaper to run a animal especially when you get one for $500 that was run at one race after a fresh rebuild.

You guys need to bring them out to Bedrock on one of the practice days and see how they match up to the other opens. I think they will be pretty close, but if they are not, then maybe all the outlaw guys can come to an agreement on a weight break or something like that. I'm sure the guys in the open class won't have a problem with more karts showing up every week. They have some really good races with just 5 or 6 karts. It would be really nice to see 10 or 11.

Toby, Larry, Scott...What do you guys think? More karts is a good thing.

I say bring them out on a play date and see where they stack up.

I wouldn't want to start hashing out weight breaks if they are talking about running 3 or 4 times a season.

Three karts makes a class. I am 99.99% sure the super heavy class is a bust. That leaves an opening for animals....restricted, stock or limited mod. If the heavy class draws karts like it did last year then two spots would be opened up.

I agree, there is no need to make major changes unless people are going to show up every week, or at least every other week.

sorry for the confusion I didnt mean a weight break right off the bat. I didnt know if you guys had rules similiar to uas where weight is according to cc's, is what I was wondering.

Bedrock does not follow the UAS rules. As a fat man with limited horsepower I'm very grateful that they don't. According to the UAS I have to scale at 322 for my motor. I'm lucky if I can get down to the 300's period.

You guys should come out and see how you do. Bedrock is not a horse power track and the open class figures to be one of the biggest at the track this season. We should be looking at 10 or more each week not counting you folks.

RACER 85,

How many times could you all make it out to Bedrock this year? I'm assuming this is the same group that races DuQuoin as well...

I'll be coming to Bedrock some this year in lights and/or mediums. See ya May 2nd for sure. I am thrilled to try the place out. I have heard alot of good things. Anyone have a good starting gear for the above classes? Thanks:D
