on wedensday night 4 a couple of years i think.godfrey held a modified invitaitional.it turned into an open comp after a year or 2.and a guy named andy clayburg or claybourne won with the car called the traviling billboard. i think gundaker klein and hammerly won one of these shows.if anybody has info or pics that would b neat.from what i remember.andys latemodel was neat but it wasnt as cool as the mods with there roofs off. and wings ok top.i got one pic of kevin at pev with wings but i think he had 3 at godfrey

I have a framed Poole Brothers 8 x 10 of Claiborne's LM with the massive plexiglass spoilers at one of those Godfrey shows. I might have to try to scan it and post it on here.

I still say my favorite car at those old Godfrey and Tri City open comp mod shows still would have to be John Hanner's Don Edmunds super mod with the dual right rear wheel.:cool:

I remember those Edmund mods I worked or stood around more like it super mod that had one ofthose bodies on it I'm thinking the car was a Ollie Runyon car does anybody remember Schrader brinnging his late model with 2 top wings from a sprint car on it

go to evolutionmotorsports.net (he builds modified chassis)
go to the race links and click on andy claibourne - vdc motorsports
he has pictures from the years he has raced although none of the outlaw late model.
In his career highlights he lists the race from godfrey.

If you look on the back of that picture from the poole brothers there is a number and you can actually contact john poole and he can get another pic of that for you or whoever wants it
 
I have a short clip on youtube and my facebook page of test n tune in 06. search for 06 sportsman. My black 77 and some orange car are on the track. I still love Godfrey. It just had something about it that people loved.
