(Warrensburg, MO) This Saturday night at Earl and Susan Walls' Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) is Armed Forces Appreciation race night. CMS always has discounted prices for its military I.D. card holders at $8 for general admission. Veterans past and present will be publicly recognized for their service prior to the start of the races. The Walls also announce for the remainder of the year that fans who are permanently confined to wheelchairs will receive free admission into the grandstands. In addition, the track will also work with groups from various care centers, nursing homes, or children's rehabilitation centers for group-type admissions into the races. Interested care centers wishing to bring a group are asked to make an appointment for race nights by calling the Walls directly at (660) 747-2166 or (816) 229-1338, no calls after 9 p.m. please.

Beginning this weekend, ULMA Late Models return to CMS for weekly competition for the remainder of the race season, ULMA cars were originally scheduled to compete only during the special-event weekends centered on the summer holiday weekends. Recent changes with ULMA led to the decision to sanction weekly races at CMS for the rest of the season. This weekend also marks the deadline in which modified drivers must have their car's frame rails and shocks in compliance with the speedway's modified rules. Drivers are encouraged to access the track Web site for rules clarification.

Things get underway on Friday, May 22nd with a $1,500-to-win Street Stock special event along with night one for modified drivers to race their way into the following night's $3,000-to-win race. Then, on Saturday, May 23rd, modified drivers will once again participate in a full night of action to complete the final 12 starting positions for the grand finale $3,000-to-win race. A total of 24 modifieds will start the 40-lap main event, which will closes out weekend events. B-Modifieds and ULMA Late Models will also race on Saturday.

It is not too late to purchase specially priced tickets and race entries for the Memorial Day weekend races. Fans in the stands and competing street stock and modified drivers can save on admission to the races and entry fees for the race weekend by logging onto www.centralmissourispeedway.net and accessing the entry form.
