Due to car count under 6 cars we have decided to take this week and next off to analyze what we need to do to ensure car count!

Thanks to all who have run so far. We will hopefully get some more nights in this second half of the season!
 
I apologize for the late notice. I have been busy planning the TTG memorial stuff. Ray was out of town till yesterday and i did not have a chance to get to a computer till this morning!
 
Fair enough. Here's a couple suggestions.

Pay more - Very few cars are from around the pevely area so you gotta pay more to get anyone from Illinois to travel.
Hot laps - its a slap in the face to not let guys hot lap

I've missed because I ran into some problems with my car. Hopefully more cars will come in the future.

Guys come out to MMP 300 to win. If more of you TCS and PEvely guys show up maybe MMP will add that class too. And we all know the pay is great there, could be even better with more cars! Bring em over guys!
 
They won't make the drive to Pevely and I'm sure they won't make the drive to MMP (at least very many times), especially when they are competing against Sportsman cars.
 
I agree with dave I think one thing that would probably help get more cars is to up the pay and not just for the winne because alot of guys don't want to make the drive with the price of fuel and such.
I think the class will take off once more guys from that area have time to buy/buildch. cars.
 
Nothing good comes easy. To add and built a class up you have to bite the bullet and maybe eat a little bit to possibly enjoy the feast later. I agree on the pay increase. But guys in the area will probably show interest if they are kept and maybe some pro 4 guys may move up if you show commitment. Also maybe a few more like Armstrong may move outta sportsman to be able to race more affordable. Maybe do a little survey of the pro 4 racers and see if any are considering a move up. All the other tracks in the STL that have this class, the participants are mostly from the vicinity of the track. Simply because of the pay they race for and the budget they race on. I think it is very possible some racers are taking a wait and see approach before they change divisions or commit to a different program wanting to see if it will last.

That's the bad thing about I55 not having a Street Stock division in so many years. Nobody in the area has them. It gonna take time plain and simply. Maybe announce on here the track is committed to them and some racers or new racers will jump in.

I would be there, but got torn up last time I was there. The funds to buy rearend and parts to fix wasn't in my budget....I WILL BE BACK..... really like the track, and alot of fun..... Greg Jones 2J
 
Hey guys,
We are running street stocks along with sportsmans at Montgomery Motorsports park if we get a full field of street stocks that would be great but in the time being the sportsman and street stock have agreed to make rules to keep the class competitive for the good of the class and to give the guys a chance to race for a decent purse ????

Which really helps with the cost of fuel and the long tows to get there plus with a drivers membership free pit passes what else could you ask for ???

Hi Jason,

I understand that we will not be able to accomodate everyone with this class and we could not handle everyone if they all came but we are trying to give this class a chance to race for a decent weekly purse as we have been asked by the racers to give them a chance and we have but it will take a good car count for this class to survive and hope to draw more cars for that to happen ??

Im thinking of bringing my car up there I race at pevely currently in the sportsman class. Have you guys made a set of rules for this trial period? Would I need to change anything on an allied legal sportsman?

you can come and race definatley I have talked to all the guys and they are trying very hard to get the car count up and wilingl to be flexable to make the class competitive !!
So bring your car and we would love to have you out and give you guys another track option to race at for a good purse !!
