Ban Gauntley for rest of Season

That was the most unsportsmanlike conduct that I have seen at Highland so far this season. Both Kleine and Gauntley both caused that wreck. I hope Kleine files assault charges against Gauntley. You need anger management classes Terry.

Gauntley

It was a hard to get ran late model main, the make up one and it took 40 minutes to get that in. So probably some aggravated drivers after a bit.
They were coming down the front Gauntley, came down a bit but was pretty close to the wall, klein got into him and a crash resulted. Causing yet another yellow. Gauntley's car was up against the wall and broken at this point. He got out of his car and started walking toward the oncoming cars that had already went around on a yellow lap and were going plenty slow. He walked in front of number 9's car making him stop. Sort of hitting the nose of the car. He had his helmet in his hand and upon getting to the drivers door , he was trying to smack Klein with his helmet. That did not fit the window well enough so he went for the other fist instead.. Hitting Klein several times before a worker (Jason) got ahold of him. He did not resist the worker at all really. They did talk a bit and it looked like he was told to head to the pits at least.
I am sure there is a rule on fighting but not for sure what it is. He did try to fight , on the front straight away right in the middle of it. For all to see....
Pretty sure they had another fight in the pits but not for sure who it was then. I seen one person getting held and it was not Gauntley. Near the turn 4 gate, but it was hard to see from my seat.
The mod make up main was long also, the bombers I think they ran with no yellows at all on their makeup main.. The late model feature later that night also ran good..
AT the end of the bomber heat they did some sort of check on the bombers , not for sure how that came out.
Also seen a hornet roll over and pretty well keep on going.. the car died on the front after that for a bit though
 Randy

the deal by the pit gate was unrelated to the Gaultny deal, something to do with sportsman car #5 i think..now i am not taking sides in the crash but its real EZ for a non driver/owner to get on here and say that a driver should get BANNED but when your $$hyt is sitting there all bent up common sense goes out the window and your emotions take control,,been there many times my self,,,,thats all i got to say,,,lenny g....here..if i make someone mad,,GOOD!!!!!!!!!1

highland rule online page

2003 SEASON RULES

NOTE: Anyone caught fighting in the pits or grandstands will be escorted

off the premises and will be barred from ALL Highland Speedway

sponsored events for the remainder of the 2003 Season

Not for sure if this is applied at all times but it was the first thing on their web sight under the rules link.

There are also UMP rules on fighting and they will apply.
The hard part about this is is that Gaultney's car got bad front end damage after hitting the wall head on after being tapped by Kleine after Kleine was heading towards the wall.
There were a lot of yellows and not much racing in the early part of the LM make up feature. The track was rough and drivers had a hard time trying just to keep their car straight.
The other pit action came from the Sportsmen ranks and two people were removed from the track by police.

What was so ignoant about the fight in the pits, was that the promoter was also throwing punches, and basicly strated the whole thing by going up and grabbing Ketrows dad. But he got in no trouble.

After I was called illegal my 14 yrs. old son threw a screwdriver down and Charlie kicked him out and told him not to come back next week! But you can throw punchs and hit someone and return if your in the click! Danny Hessenauer

Charlie has lost it!!!!! It's no wonder what happened Sat. night it was due. He has screwed so many people. He has no respect for anyone one unless your one of his "buddies". You can not criticize him for anything. He does not have the respect of to many drivers. Maybe its time for him to go. If you don't think he has his favorites Sat. night was a perfect example Harrison pushes Beilong down the straightaway till he spins him out, mmmmm guess thats not rough driving. But Beilong doesn't lift going into turn one, never touches Harrison and Korte puts Harrison into the turn one gate and Beilong gets DQed for the night. Then Brad Stienkoenig punches Eric Goetter in the face, mmmmmmmm does anyone get a suspension?..... nope. Why? Could it be Brad helps Charlie with the track? The Madison County Fair Board just sweeps it under the rug, hoping everyone will just forget about it.
the rules state anyone fighting in the pits will get a week off. Well woopeee it should be the driver who gets the week off. That is the only way this crap will end. Cup your right this stuff is getting old and the car counts will suffer because of it. There has been some awsome racing this year but it is being overshadowed by some of the other B.S. As far as Danny goes there is a real problem with the bombers as far as all these cars getting DQed when the protest official is related to one of the drivers. One of those things that makes ya say "mmmmmmmmmmmm"

first of all, you are right about charlie loosing control. gauntly should be barred from the track regardless of any rules, he is a hot head and should of asked someone what happend. aaron was out of shape in turn 4(as a lot of other drivers were also) gauntly went low and started to go up to the wall(even though if you run low in the corners you should stay middle or lower on the straightaways) he got into kleine and around he went. it was a total accident and no one was at fault.

also, why is there a break check on the bombers and then the next week the ones who fail do not get checked again??????
the 30 of hewlett failed and still does not have breaks or at least good enough to stop his car in a safe manner. i say the cars that fail should be required to break check on the infield before the hot laps start. and while im on a streak of complaining, i wish the officals whould remind drivers that if you run high through the corners, you should run mid to high on the straights, and if you run low, mid to low on the straights, i have seen a lot of cars get blocked or put into the wall because the guy on the bottom pinches the guy off that is on the outside, the guy on the outside tries to go low and the guy in front sawes him off going into the corner. how the he11 are you to pass a guy clean if this continues, because if you touch or bump you get the black flag.

just my opnion, i have a lot to learn but i have been around enough to know what to do or not to do on the track.

beilong is the roughest driver that I've ever seen at least in the modifieds. He almost wrecked martintoni out three times. anyone who thinks griffaw is a rough driver obviously has never seen beilong race.

since all you race car drivers and owners are so quick to rush to judgment perhaps you should ask AARON what his opion is on the matter

HeyAaron

Hey Aaron!! What is your opinion on the deal? We all know that tempers flare when racing, but in this instance, I think Gaultney had plenty of time to think about what he was doing.

fight

i really cant see charlie banning gauntley for the year,im not trying to stir things up but there was a fight where the entrance to the track is and charlie blew it off,so how can you ban one and not the other, the fight in turn 4 im talking about happened a month or so ago.

RUSH TO JUDGEMENT?

LENNY,
DIDN'T ALLIED USED TO SUSPEND DRIVERS FOR 1YR IF THEY HIT ANOTHER DRIVER WHILE THEY WERE IN THE CAR? I THINK THEY USED TO, NOT SURE IF THEY STILL DO. I THINK THEY SHOULD! JUST SEEMS KINDA CHICKEN SH!t TO ME. SOMETIMES THERE ARE INSTANCES WHERE A GUY DESERVES SOMEONE TO GO UPSIDE HIS HEAD, BUT LET HIM OUT OF HIS CAR AND FACE HIM LIKE A MAN.....J/M/O

allied did things their own way,or the way they thought they saw what happened at any given time, they still do,allied dont have anything to do with highland,i stoped right there on the track and i cant swear that gaulnty ever made contact,ok it was not the best display of sportsmanship but as i sugested earlier,,,ASK AARON WHAT HIS VIEW IS,,,i respect his opinion,as a matter of fact i respect most all stl users, even the ones from mars,,,,,

I KNOW THIS WAS ABOUT HIGHLAND, JUST THINK THAT WOULD BE A RULE GOOD FOR ALL TRACKS. THERES NO PLACE FOR FIGHTING PERIOD AND MOST WOULD AGREE, BUT ESPECIALLY A ONE SIDE FIGHT.

THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF THOSE OPINIONS FROM "MARS"....LOL BUT HERE GOES.

IF A GUY TEARS MY STUFF UP TO THE POINT I FEEL THE NEED TO INFLICT BODILY HARM, I THINK I'D JUST AS SOON RETURN THE FAVOR AT A LATER DATE. I KNOW I'D RATHER HAVE A BLACK EYE THAN HAVE TO SPEND A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS FIXIN' THE RACER.:D  :D
