Belle-Clair Plays Host to Gateway Midgets June 12

BELLEVILLE, IL: For the second time this season, midget auto racing roars into the Belle-Clair Speedway Sunday, June 12th for the Gateway Shootout sanctioned by Gateway Racing Incorporated (GRI).

A strong contingent of competitors will step up to give May 15 feature winner Mike Hess some competition including Belleville resident Steve Knepper, Joey Montgomery, Tim Siner, Brad Loyet, Donnie Lehmann, Justin Allgaier, Rich Camfield, and many others.

Also, area stock car fans will follow the progress of UMP modified ace Bobby "The Belleville Bullet" Bittle who will be in midget competition Sunday night. Bittle, who has won features at Belle-Clair, I-55, and Tri-City Speedways this season, will make is debut in open cockpit racing.

Winged 600 c.c. micro sprints paying $500 to win will complete the evening's two division program.

Pit gates open at 2:00. Spectator gates open at 5:00.
Hot laps are at 6:00. Race time on Sunday is 6:30 pm.

Sunday's grandstand tickets are just $12. Children under
12 will be admitted free.

Belle-Clair Speedway is located at Routes 159 and 13 in Belleville, Illinois.
