Cancelled for tomorrow Friday August 3rd.


We will look forward to a break in the weather for the Carl Springer Classic 100.

August Schedule

Fri Aug 10th - St. Clair/Bel-Air Bowl Carl Springer Classic 100 at the Fair!
Sat Aug 11th - Demo Derby
Sun Aug 12th - POWRi Knepper Memorial - Midgets & Micro's

yes it is awesome news, knowing that don isn't giving up yet! Thank you don for the schedule, as so I can start preparing for the rest of August. This Friday is the 100 lapper, these guys will be hitting the track so anxious that it will be the best side by side, bumper to bumper, pedal to the metal stock car racing. So be there, at belle clavier speedway next Friday the tenth. And remember kids get in free!!!
 
Yep there is a cool wave on the way with rain showers. I guess with the heat and rain they cancelled. I dont think its going to rain that much and the heat well its summer in St. Louis!
 
Belle-Clair is more confined than Tri-City and has a roof over the grandstands and some of the pits. It does seem hotter there than Tri-City when temps are in the 100s. At least we're lucky enough to have two good tracks within a short drive of each other on Friday nights.
 
This is actually kinda sad on belleclairs part. For 1-belleville "Vegas" speedway is a race track not a four to five in a roll cancelled track. You opened it to race not to let it go to waste. For 2-Its said that your scared of the storms coming in and the heat is suppose to be here, your not going to escape it-its called SUMMEr for a reason. For 3-next year if you keep cancelling then im pretty sure your not going to be making enough moneythe rest of this year and or next year. Just saying if other tracks can race you can to, this is sad
 
If it wasn't for Don, nobody would be racing there this year or last year. If you don't have the time, money, and effort he does, then you have no room to talk. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else, it's that simple, period end of story.

PS: It took me a long time to realize this, and thanks to Don and Joe for even making efforts some nights, when some would never.
 
What is it going to take to get through to some of you thick headed wanna be promoters that are always complaining about belleville cancelling the races due to the heat? They are not the only tracks. This week brownstown and doe run have both cancelled and no one is ripping them a new one for it. Pevely of coarse wont cancel bc it is the WoO Sprint there plus the temps are going to be nicer on Saturday.

Belleville is behind the 8 ball compared to every other track in this area. All they have to work with it the money brought in from the grandstand admission and the pit passes. The concession stand has to make a great deal of money before anything is kicked back to Don to put towards the money being spent to put on the show. Someone said that Tri City never cancels so why does belleville. Well Kevin and Tammy own that track. Don doesnt own Belle Clair. So Kevin and Tammy dont have to pay anyone to lease the track. They also provide there own food which isnt the case at Belle Clair. There are alot of things that other tracks dont have to payout that belleville does and alot of other things that other tracks have income from that belleville doesnt.

As i have mentioned time and time again what would you people that are complaining rather have? Would you rather them be safe than sorry and take nights like these off or would you rather them run anyways and lose thousands upon thousands of dollars and have to close the gates for the rest of the season or for good? I know as a racer i would be very upset to ever see belle clair shut down for good. It is my local track that i have grown up at and they put on some of the best racing in the area on the little bull ring. I think belleville cancelled once last year bc of the heat but as we all know this is the first time that i can remember that we have had a summer of this magnitude.

So once again how about you be grateful that belle clair is still around and that you have other tracks to go to also. Support Belle Clairs decisions to cancel due to the heat instead of bashing them for it. I am sure being more supportive will get the track along better than complaining and bashing them everyweek. To me it is almost common sense but unfortunately some people dont have that.
 
Last year we lost 3,or 4 weeks because of the heat,with a rain out in the middle.Reading the updated schedule,BC will be done the end of Aug.No one has mentioned how the cancelations sit with the unfortunate businesses that put up hard earned cash to be sponsors.Or the season pass holders.??????????????????????

Just being right there in the city ifs its a 100 out its goona be 10 to 15 degrees hotter there cause all the **** putting out heat and holding it.

HAHAHAHA your funny! Sorry i dont keep a running tab on the nights that have been cancelled due to the heat. Your the first person to trash belleville and the first to congradulate them all in the same day. Bipolar maybe?? The only thing that is going to hurt the fan base are the ones that cant come to grips with the reality of this situation this year with the heat. That and why arent people complaining on the other threads that are posted for tracks not racing this week due to the heat? Why such the hard on for Belleville?

It is none of our business what happens with the track sponsors and Don. Absolutely none at all. That is between them and only them. As far as the season passes go i have no clue.

So one simple question to all you that complain about the cancelling of these races. How many of you would flush $4000 down the toilet or light $4000 on fire? I am sure NOT one of you would. So if Don knows he is going to lose a great deal like that bc of the heat and low attendence then why the heck would he run? It is COMMON SENSE people. Doesnt take a PHd to figure this one out.

Anyways i could talk till i am blue in the face but its not going to make a difference. The complainers are going to continue to complain and the ones that understand the situation will continue to support the track in there decisions.
