Tonight's Summer Nationals at Belle-Clair Speedway have been canceled due to weather.
 
Take the time to look at the radar and then you might want to reconsider your comments people! Why chance it when the rain is coming? Smart business decision of you ask me...
 
People rain is coming and no sense in letting people get trapped at an open event. I know they didnt want to cancel as it brings in some dollars. Kudos to them for an early announcement
 
There is moisture coming down now. This is the biggest event on Belle Clair s schedule. Cancelling means a lot to the promoter.
 
I remember one SN (I think)race at hiland that rained so hard they had inner tube racing behind ATV--every one had a wet T shirt that night--
 
By jumping the gun a little to early the promoter is the real looser I suspect that I shouldn't have just said what I said but just very frustratied

I need to walk over. Track could be real wet. Pit area in the field isn't.

City is re-doing the ditch and culverts on church street behind the track.
 
This would have been the tenth year for this race. This is the first one to have Mother Nature interfere.
 
Had great weather last night. Played out at the track till 9:30 or so. No rain. Clear sky's all the way from Belleville to sesser on the ride home. Would of made for some great racing. Nice and cool.
 
I would bet today most race fans are not as hard core as previous decades (e.g. 70's & 80's) and the threat of rain would have kept them away. Having a big payout for the Summer National race the promoter probably would have taken a big loss. I don't blame the promoter.
