Belle-Clair's "big announcement"

Are we sure someone at WoO was supposed to book a show at Belleville, KS but booked it at Belleville, IL instead? j/k this is great news!

It would be awesome for this to become a yearly event. I prefer Lucas Oil as far as caliber of drivers go, but this is a great event for Belleville. I remember the first SN at Belleville and hearing all the drivers talking about the wood fence.

I think Tri-City had too many problems last year when they ended up canceling due to rain during the WoO show. I booked it to Belleville and made it just in time for the features.

parent grab your kids get away from the fences because this is going to be like
""""JETS IN A GYMNASIUM!!!!!!!!!!!"""""""""""

I can just hear Talker Guy and PhotoBilly now just going nuts over this news.
This is the best thing to happen to Belleville in years.

There is one person involved with a WoO team that has been to Belleville more than u think. It will be wild to come home an race, I never thought I would say that.

Jason, I thought you were banned from Bellevile? No not the track but the whole city. lmao It will be good to see you again.

this is going to be an awesome event, great job don!! one question though. r all them gigantic haulers gonna fit in the back lot?

My brother Randy Haffer is considering borrowing, renting or stealing a late model to run in this event because PhotoBilly was our cousin and he wants to do it for Billy. Anyone know of a driver with a good backup car that will donate it for the evening to the Haffer family?? Randy raced sportsman and mods at St. Charles for years and won some races in the day. Would be a dream come true to race for Billy! :)

Fans and drivers please come out to support this event so that it becomes an annual event. Billy Haffer was not just a photographer for over 20 years in the St. Louis area, he was a huge promoter of dirt racing in the midwest. He traveled thousands of miles each year to many different tracks and was a constant companion, race fan, photographer and promoter. Unfortunately his passion and dedication to catch every event he could would lead to his death by a sleepy truck driver and a loaded 18 wheeler. PhotoBilly, as he was known by, loved the World of Outlaws (both series) and would be so delighted to know this event is being run in his honor. To me this is a small thank you for his many years of service to the sport of dirt track racing. I wish I had written down every story he ever told me because it would certainly be worth sharing now.

Thanks to Donnie Hoener and all who helped make this happen. The Haffer family is so proud and thankful for all the sacrafices being made by fans and drivers to begin something huge. Billy made these same sacrafices many times each week to give fans and drivers a close up view of their favorites drivers. He had many close calls along the way and captured at least a million images with his camera over the years. Many of his photos were also published in midwest racing magazines but it was not fame or fortune he was after. He always took a lot of pride in being at the race when history was made. He often spoke of the thrills of seeing history made in person. Ironically he can't be here for this historic event, but we are so thankful we will all be able to see this awesome event! Thanks again to all the fans and drivers making plans to be in Belleville on Sept. 14! God bless you all!!

Yes he has, and I really didn't think he'd touch belleville with his car. Can't wait, gonna be an awesome show!

Babb has both races on his schedule as well, and he was supposed to start up front at fairbury.

Don Hoener and belleclair speedway are not only honoring an awesome racing friend on September 14, the are putting belleclair speedway on the map! The eyes of the dirt racing world will be in Belleville, Illinois! This Photobilly 50 is not only a historic event, but could mean the rebirth of belleclair speedway! Billy was always promoting this awesome track everywhere his racing addiction took him and would love nothing more than to see others sharing his passion and a packed house on sept 14! Thank you don and thank you billy! We miss so much!
