Bomber Momma #19
Yes, that's right! Loren, the famous (infamous?) Belleville "Beer Man" flipped his beer cart on the back side trying to make that tight left turn into the tunnel back to the beer pit. The rains were coming down, and in his attempt to get his cart safe and dry with its precious cargo, Loren took the turn a little too fast. Bob Kaiser was already pressed into service with a disabled race car, so several big hefty back side fans helped Loren right his cart and put it back together. No damage to speak of, the beer cans were gathered up (looked like "debris" on the sidewalk), and the hinged flaps on the cart worked just fine after the spill. Loren had no comment afterwards, as TTG (with his microphone) was running for his life to get out of the storm.
What night at Belleville! Got the Late Model and Modified races done, but no Sportsman or PureStock features again.
And then when I got home to Waterloo--it was dry as a bone--no rain in Waterloo! Maybe we should build a racetrack in Waterloo/Monroe County?
Whoops, spoke too soon. Now at 11:40 p.m. it's raining like Belleville in Waterloo.
