At the STL Fan Club Banquet, (I didn't get the guys name) but he said he had leased the track and was going to open the drag strip and dirt track in Benton, MO...

Hopefully someone can provide some more info that has talked to him.
 
Clyde Harrison is his name . The drag strip will be open first and about May or June the dirt track should open !! I dont know if he has made his mind up on what class yet or not !
 
He has a younger gentleman helping him. His name is Barkley Schmidt.

They will have a test n tune on March 3 for the drag racers. The cost is $3 for competitors and free for the fans. They will be having Sunday 1/8-mile bracket racing.

The track is 10 miles north of Sikeston.....take Exit 80.

That's the info that was announced at the Banquet of Champions.
 
Is this the same Clyde Harrison that ran the drag strip and built the circle track in Pevely (I55)?

I talked with Barkley today when he came by the shop. They do have a test and tune for the drag strip on march 3. They are hoping to have the dirt track open by may or June. They are putting a fresh layer of dirt on the track. They are wanting input for what classes, day to race, or anything else someone wants to offer advice. I can let Barkley know. They have a web site and Facebook page that I will put up here later on tonight. Thank you for any input.
