Corinth, Mississippi (1/20/09) – Two potent players in the Super Late Model world have combined to be a single, powerful force for the 2009 season as DHL Motorsports and chauffer, Anthony Burroughs have merged their teams to form BHL Motorsports.
DHL Motorsports has a long history throughout the southeast in their familiar Mississippi One Call #1 Mastersbilt Super Late Model. Team owners, Eugene and Judy Holland, along with John Little have funded the operation as some of the areas top drivers have piloted their entry in local, regional, and national events.
Anthony Burroughs and Burroughs Motorsports, based in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, have been burning up ovals for several years in the Southeast as well. However, over the past two years, the team has really started to gain momentum with its operation, as Burroughs has become a threat on each and every race night.
For the 2009 season, DHL Motorsports and Burroughs Motorsports have announced their merger, which they intend to utilize as a full force, no-holds barred attack on regional Super Late Model events throughout the Southeast. The team utilizes the former DHL Motorsports facility in Corinth, Mississippi. Anthony will be piloting Mastersbilt By Stuckey Chassis for 2009 along with Wall-2-Wall Performance Engines, and his car number will continue to be #121.
The team recently participated in a practice session at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi. With a practice session under their belt, BHL Motorsports is ready to wage war on their competitors and will officially get the 2009 season underway this weekend at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi with the 9th Annual Carl Hogan Honda Winter Classic. The event pays $3,000 to win for the 40 lap event, and will likely attract a strong cast of regional contenders. The weekend gets underway on Friday, January 23rd with an Open Practice Session.
