TULSA OK. Bill Frye picked up his second O'Reilly Auto Parts Mid-America Racing Series win of the season. Frye lead all 40 laps, and ran away with the race. Frye picked up $3,000 for the win.

Rex McCroskey was the races top qualifier, and held the pole. Terry Phillips was to his outside. That pair ran the first lap nose to tail, and made contact in turn one, starting the second lap. Phillips got turned around, and was relegated to the rear of the field.

Frye moved up to the outside front row position, and was off with the green, with McCroskey, Jeff Taylor, Charlie Randolph, and Mike Bowers falling in behind. Bowers got by Taylor and Randolph for the third spot on the second lap. The caution came out on lap three, for Dewaine Hottinger, who was stopped on the frontstretch.

Frye opened a five carlength lead on the restart. Jeff Floyd picked up fifth on lap five, then moved past Taylor for fourth on the backstretch on the next circuit. Frye was pacing the field by 10 carlengths by lap seven, and was a half straight up by lap 10.

The yellow flag waved on lap 16 for debris in turn four. Without getting in an official lap, the caution waved again for Charlie Randolph who had gotten turned around on the frontstretch. Taylor was fourth on the restart, and got by Bowers for third in turn four on lap 17. Taylor was on the move, and drove by McCroskey for second on the backstretch on lap 18.

Jeff Floyd brought out the caution on lap 19, as his right rear tire shredded. Floyd pitted for fresh rubber, and returned to the race. McCroskey was back around Taylor on the restart for second. Leslie Essary inherited fifth from Floyd's misfortune, and was dueling side by side with Terry Phillips for the spot, who had made his was back from the rear of the field in just 20 laps. Phillips got by Essary for fifth on lap 23.

Frye was once again pacing the field by 10 carlenghts by lap 25. Phillips was racing with Taylor and Bowers for third, when Taylor got his car sideways in turn three on lap 29, causing by he and Phillips to loose some momentum. Bowers secured third in the near altercation.

Frye was a half straightaway ahead by lap 30. Phillips got by Taylor for fourth in turn two on lap 33. Frye was looking at traffic by lap 35. The next three cars were tight, with McCroskey, Bowers, and Phillips nearly three wide as the laps wore down.

Bill Frye came home with the win, with Rex McCroskey, Mike Bowers, Terry Phillips, and Jeff Taylor making up the top five. Mike Brown, Leslie Essary, Jeff Floyd, Shane Essary, and Gary Stolba rounded out the top ten.
