Bmods??

Out here in Vegas it is IMCA. I noticed at the dual in the desert, virtually every car was CRATE. Some car owner told me to be competitive anymore in IMCA, the crate is the way to go.

Seems to me all the tracks around St. Louis are averaging over 20 bmods a night and that is with Fayette, Highland, I55 and sfcr all running on Saturday nights.

RCR with usra sanction only seems to average about 15 bmods

RCR is pretty well in the middle of nowhere though and only run about 10 nights a year. Closest track is Callaway which is an hour away and they run tri city type rules. All I'm saying is unless ump goes to a rules package similar to USRA then they may as well ditch the bmod class and leave all their tracks to run unsanctioned and all different rules. Which sucks for guys that travel around to different places.

No if you are a true b mod you are on a 3 link set up with 360 cubic inches with this setup you can go anywhere u want

I just got into the bmod class this year and haven't had much success but have really enjoyed being able to race at all these different tracks and only changing a few things like spoilers and a chunk of lead here and there! So thanks TC BC i55 and Farmington!

Tri City Speedway put a B Mod rule package to accommodate other tracks within a 100 mile radius, meaning that racer's from other tracks would be legal to run at Tri City. We've had great car counts using these rules.

And great racing too!

Some of the rules say Open motors must strap on the weight or that Crates get spoilers. What rules would people rather see to "Even" out the motors. OR does there not need to be any "Rule Breaks" for crates?
to even out the bmod motors they need a good claim rule, sense 602 crate motors can be bought for 3500$ new running on 4 barrel carbs, we should be able to claim/buy any guys motor for 2500$ minus carb/exhaust headers, as well as any motor should be able to get claimed/bought for that, for the motors been put in the car and ran for some race laps so with depreciation values figured in at about 2500$, a -minus 1000$ is about right to give to the pit shack to buy any competitors motor or else they should be flat out dq for not building a motor within respectable means of the class, should it happen a protester protest with the funds regardless of of how many cops, sheriff's and track officials needed to haul such a protested out

T-Man --you ramble on a bit -- fact is by the time you buy a crate you still have other expenses -- the open motors should have been muzzled from the git-go -- allied motor rules would have been on the money -- I have 1200 in the motor in the 27 car but would not honor a claim as I would be out of racing while I collect enough parts to build a motor I can afford -- one ? why would the cops be needed???

I think that ALL of the B mod engines should be on a gauge legal 4412 carburetor crate or not. Forget about the seals, weight breaks and other bull that goes along with the crate engine and go to something that the track can police easily.

The Allied Sportsman engine rules package would have also worked very well.

The Allied sportsman rules allowed a 4bbl on the crate. But I agree those rules were really good.

So let's say one guy wins a lot and gets claimed 10 times in a season that would mean he lost 10000 how's that affordable for a lower budget class?

Figure it would take no time to make with a drill press, cost next to nothing and for tech just swap em around. As long as the mounting flanges match right?

Each week winner gives his restrictor plate to last place

And maybe mandate a chip rule with it?

But I'm no racer. Just an engineering student who loves racing

A restrictor plate(square edge orifice) can be made simply but they are not easy to make consistently so that all of the plates have nearly identical CD. Very small variations in the shape of the edge of the hole, the thickness of the plate, machining marks, hole ID, location etc can all have very large influences in the flow available.

Even with computerized machines of today? Just asking.

We don't need restrict or plates nothing wrong with what we have just need good old fashion tech pull a head every now and again but we have become lazy and don't want that lol
