(Warrensburg) Racing fans were treated to a great racing around the high banks at Central Missouri Speedway on the tacky surface for KDKD Race Night. 99 drivers checked into CMS in 5 classes to the delight of race fans once again producing some of the best racing around the area this year. Warming up for the State Fair Sunday Night races, Modified driver Dustin Boney from Tonganoxie, KS drove his Hughes racing machine to the checkers winning the weekly $1000 feature in the Mighty Modified division after his Friday night feature win at Valley Speedway. Limited Late Model driver, Brett Rollert continues on a roll in this class with a Contingency Connection bonus win, his ninth feature victory of the season. Mark Evinger also showed his dominance by driving his John Ake owned B- Modified into first place to take the checkers for his sixth feature win of the season. The Street Stock feature produced a hard fought and well deserved victory with James McMillin driving his 68M Street Stock to the checkered flag for his first feature victory this year. The 305/360 Sprints were back on the track at CMS with Josh Fisher finishing first again this week for his eighth feature win of the season.

Limited Late Model heat races were exciting with some great racing around the track with Jason Estes for his second heat win of the year and Kevin Coyne taking his fifth heat win this season putting them on the front row for the feature. Estes once again drove into the lead on lap one and held on until lap ten when his drive shaft broke and he had to retire for the night. Estes has lead several features at CMS this year before leaving the track for various mechanical problems. Rollert remains dominate and inherited the lead tonight while never looking back with his Contingency Connection bonus award victory. A fabulous run was completed by Steven Clancy back up into a second place finish after spinning into the infield and restarting at the tail end of the field. Mike McCoy made his first appearance at CMS this year and had a nice fifth place finish as well.

Fisher quickly shot out front to go ahead of the field with first-time visitor and another 17 year old driver, Chris Walker battling for the lead. But Walker was no match for the points leader, Fisher as he walked away with another Sprint feature victory tonight. Tom McGary looked solid passing Cristi Hoenshell on lap five only to loss the position back to Hoenshell on lap six. McGary then had a major engine problem with heavy smoke and had to leave the track. Evinger and Meeker worked high and low with Evinger taking the lead on the lap one re-start after spin from Cliff Owings. Meeker left the track on lap four after he went over the embankment on turn two with a mechanical problem. Tony Nelson, the points leader also hit the front wall hard out of turn four which ended his night as well. Layne and Marrant were battling on the high and low side just behind the early leading Boney. By lap seven, Don Danner worked into the mix for second place along with Layne and Marrant featuring a great battle for the second spot. Layne held on early, but on lap 15 Danner passes Layne and Marrant for second place . Marrant quickly follows with a pass down low on lap 18 to take second place for the remainder of the race. In what had to be drive of the night was Lee Hibner finishing in fifth place after going off the track over turn two after a first lap spin by James McMillin. Hibner drove hard picking off drivers moving his way up through the rest of the field for the fifth place finish.
