DOE RUN, MO--Doe Run Raceway has proven to be quite the training ground for the area's young racing talent. This was especially evident this past Friday night in the 600cc multi class as former kart racer Joey Boyd returned to the winners circle after earning his third consecutive feature win of the season. Boyd, who at times had a straightaway lead on the second place car, lapped the field up to fifth place before the checkered flag finally flew signaling the end of the 20 lap main event.

Rounding out the top five were Casey Barnhouse, Andy Malpocker, Jimmy Bridgeman and Matt Dotson. Boyd won the first heat, Mark Shirshekan second and Bridgeman third. Barnhouse won the second heat, Tony Roney second and Malpocker third.

Bill Beard's streak now stands at two in a row after picking up a win in the Dwarf Car main event. Vince Conway finished second, Chris Hayes third and another former kart racer Brad Paquet finished fifth. Dave Huffman won the first heat, Paquet second and Tracy Rentfro third. Conway won the second heat, Beard second and Mike Zaricor third.

Shannon "King Daddy" Burch's winning streak in the Mini Stock division could be compared to that famous bunny on television, it just keeps on going and going and going and now stands at five feature wins in a row. Burch was followed across the line by Marty Boyer, CJ Wright, Ronnie Moser and Rob Denny. Burch won the first heat, Boyer second and Wright third. Rob Denny won the second heat, Moser second and Dave Snider third. As an added incentive to area Mini Stock racers, a $100 bounty has been added to the mini stock purse for the first person other than Burch who can win the Mini Stock feature event.

Andrew Cash earned two wins for the evening in the Stock Kart class. Braydon Wright finished second in the feature event, Landon Barks third, Scottie Gretzmacher fourth and Jesse Wright fifth. Barks finished second to Cash in the heat race, Braydon Wright third.

Racing will resume Friday, July 22nd with night two of the 600cc non winged point series. Winged cars will not be participating during the non winged events. Mini Stock, Dwarf Cars and Stock Karts will also be participating.
