Belleville, IL: Avon Indiana's Brad Kuhn claimed victory in the 30 lap Arnie Knepper Memorial presented by Fred Bach Auto Body Wednesday night at Belle-Clair Speedway.

Kuhn started on the pole and jumped out to an early lead over Brad Loyet, Mike Hess, and Daniel Adler. Kuhn built a comfortable lead as a five car battle for second raged on behind him. Kuhn's sizeable lead was erased when the caution came out for a spin on lap 16.

Belleville's Brett Anderson had moved into second and took the lead on the restart with a nice move in turn one. Anderson would lead several laps with Kuhn and Hess charging hard until a caution on lap 22 slowed the pace.

On the restart Kuhn put a slide job on Anderson in turn one. Anderson and Kuhn swapped slide jobs several times until Kuhn gained the lead for good on lap 28.

At the finish it was Kuhn claiming the $1000 first prize over Anderson, Mike Hess, Donnie Lehmann and Greg Lueckert rounding out the top five.

In the companion 600cc micro sprint feature Indiana's Neil Shephard made a late race pass of Casey Barnhouse to claim victory in the 20 lap feature. Daniel Robinson, Jonathon Hendricks and Collinsville's Tyler Robbins rounded out the top five.

A strong field of 29 midgets and 38 micro sprints filled the pit area Wednesday night.
