(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team entered one lone event over the August 4-5 weekend, as they traveled to Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky on Friday evening for the 20th Annual 'Pete Abell Memorial.' The Schaeffer's Oil Iron-Man Championship Series presided over the dirt-slinging action at "The Pond" and a $3,000 payday was on the line. Brandon tripped the clock third fastest overall during time trials and later scored the victory in his heat race.

He was then scheduled to start the 30-lap headliner from the inside of the second row, but with the polesitter suffering mechanical problems during the pace laps, BK assumed the pole position for the feature. The Lexington, Kentucky driver officially led lap one and raced amongst the top three for most of the distance. At the checkers, Brandon found himself in the fourth finishing position behind only victor Hudson O'Neal, Michael Chilton, and Tripp Gerald! The Kinzer Motorsports team will jump right back into competition on August 10-12 at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The 34th edition of the 'North/South 100' will take place at the undersized 1/2-mile clay oval this weekend and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over all of the racing action. Things kick off at the Cincinnati-area speedplant later tonight with the 'North/South Shootout' - a complete program paying $10,000 to the winner.

A double set of preliminary heat races will then take center stage on Friday night with passing points determining the lineups for Saturday's dashes and consolation events. After all preliminary races are held, the crown jewel extravaganza will culminate with the 'North/South 100,' which will once again boast an enormous $50,000 paycheck for the victor of the 100-lap contest. Brandon has invaded Florence on three different occasions already in 2017 and has notched a pair of top ten performances.
