(MUSCATINE, IOWA) The Birkhofer Racing team and driver Brian Birkhofer will
invade the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana this Saturday, April
1, for the ninth annual ‘Indiana Icebreaker.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series will sanction the $10,000 to win event at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked
dirt oval located on the premises of the Jackson County Fairgrounds. A full
night of racing action will take place this Saturday at the south-central
Indiana oval, as qualifications, heat race action, consolation events, and a

The driver known across the country as “Birky” will be debut his new
Daufeldt Transport / J&J Steel / McDonald’s of the Quad Cities / Simon
Trucking #15b Rocket / Pro Power Monte Carlo at the ‘Indiana Icebreaker’
this weekend! In other news, Brian announced today that he WILL NOT be
running the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series full-time in 2006. While he
will compete in many of their events this year, he does not have the
full-time help to make a serious challenge at the point title. Birky will
instead run a mixture of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, World of Outlaws
Late Model Series, WDRL PolyDome Late Model Series, and other sanctioned and
unsanctioned events this year.
“I am looking forward to hitting the track again this weekend at
Brownstown,” commented Birkhofer this afternoon. “I think the last time I
was there was back in 2001 when I won the Jackson 100. There will be a lot
of good cars there this weekend, so myself and the new Rocket car will have
to be on our A-Game to just make the show. Hopefully, the car will perform
well out of the box and we can be a threat to win.”
