Brian Birkhofer Notches Eighth Win of Season and Jumps to Third in Xtreme Points

(Muscatine, IA) Brian Birkhofer Racing captured their eighth win of the 2003 season last Thursday night at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA. Brian won his heat race and started second for the first feature PolyDome Super Series-sanctioned event and he was able to take the checkers first to earn the $4,000 win. The top 13 were then inverted for the second $4,000 to win show and Brian worked his way through the field in his Seubert Calf Ranches / Daufeldt Transport / Double Eagle Sales & Embroidery #15b MasterSbilt / Pro Power Monte Carlo to finish in the fourth spot.

The next night, the team was off to Granite City, IL for a $10,000 to win Xtreme DirtCar Series show at Tri-City Speedway. Brian won his heat race and finished second in the Action Performance Dash to earn a second place starting spot in the 50-lap feature event. Brian would battle fiercely throughout the race to stay up front and eventually wound up in the runner-up position.

Saturday night, Brian Birkhofer Racing headed to yet another $10,000 to win Xtreme show, this time at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL. Birky posted the fifth fastest qualifying lap and finished second in his heat race. Brian started fifth in the main event, but could only muster a sixth place finish. The two strong runs in the Xtreme DirtCar Series races last weekend vaulted Brian into the third spot in the yearlong Xtreme DirtCar Series National Point Standings.

A busy week is in store for Brian Birkhofer Racing, as they will compete in three shows this week. The action kicks off on Tuesday night at West Liberty Raceway in West Liberty, IA. The cars and stars of the Xtreme DirtCar Series will be in West Liberty tomorrow night for a $10,000 to win show. Brian will then take the #15b to the Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, WI on Wednesday night for a $7,000 to win PolyDome Super Series event. Then it is off to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI for the annual running of the USA Outlaw Nationals. This year’s version will be sanctioned by the Xtreme DirtCar Series and will pay $40,000 to the winner. The event will be taped by the SPEED Channel for airing later in the summer.
