Inside Line Promotions - PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Sept. 13, 2018) - Brian Brown's first trip of the season to Central Pennsylvania was a success last weekend during the Tuscarora 50.

Brown kicked off the famed Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions event at Port Royal Speedway on Friday by qualifying quickest in his group, which was tied for fourth quickest out of 46 competitors.

Brown then advanced from fourth to third place in a heat race, which was only one position shy of locking into the dash. His qualifying time also left him one spot out of making a dash.

"Making the dash is pretty critical toward setting yourself up for a chance to win the race," he said. "We just missed it by our heat race finish and our qualifying time so that started us mid-pack in the feature."

Brown lined up on the outside of the fifth row in the main event.

"We got a good start and made progress throughout the race," he said. "At one point we were battling for a top five, but a late restart didn't go our way. There's a lot of tough competitors in Central Pennsylvania so any time you can move forward and compete for top fives it's a good night."

Brown's seventh-place result marked his 27th top 10 of the season.

He returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday and qualified second quickest in his group and fifth overall. Unfortunately, weather washed out the show when the first heat race was on the track. Sunday's make-up date also rained out.

Brown is slated to compete this Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Saturday at Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pa., during the Jim Nace Memorial/National Open with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

"We're excited to continue racing out here and to get some laps at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday in preparation for the upcoming National Open," he said. "Also, we're looking forward to trying to win the Jim Nace Memorial on Saturday at Selinsgrove. We were lucky enough to win it last year and we're hoping to put ourselves in position to win it again.

"You have to be on point when you're racing out here so we're looking forward to the challenge of testing ourselves against some of the best competition in sprint car racing."
