Brian Harris, Henry Delonjay, Tony Dunker and Adam Birck all picked up feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, June 19 in Father’s Night at the Races sponsored by Miller Lite and Mississippi Belle Distributing Co.

Brian Harris’s first trip to Quincy this season did not start out on a good note as he missed his heat race as his car was not ready to race when his heat was called to the track. Harris’s bad luck meant that he had to start the main event on the rear but it did not phase the Davenport Iowa’s driver a bit. Harris was into the nineth spot by the fourth lap in a twenty car field. Joey Gower had pulled to comfortable margin over the fifteen laps, even surviving several caution period restarts one of which put Mark Burgtorf and Dustin Neese to the rear after stopping on the track on a fourth lap accident. Harris continued his climb through the field even making it four wide coming off of turn two on one lap. Harris reached the second spot on the twevled circuit and set his sights on Gower running Gower down to take the sead on the sixteenth lap. Harris pulled to a comfortable margin until Mark Burgtorf made his charge through the field to the second spot on the twenty seventh lap. Burgtorf set sail for Harris but fell four car lengths short at the checkered flag giving Harris his first feature win at Quincy Raceways. Burgtorf settled for second with Denny Woodworth in third, Jason Connoyer in fourth and Lonnie Bailey in fifth. Gower, Brian Kenning and Burgtorf all took heat race wins with Kenning grabbing the checkered flag in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Mark Burgtorf now holds a twenty six point lead over Lonnie Bailey in the chase to the Track Points Championship.

Ted Allen looked like he was going to make it a perfect race night as he won his heat race then the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash and was leading the first thirteen laps of the Miller Lite A Modified feature event. Disaster struck on the fourteenth lap as Allen spun on turn four with no assistance relegating him to the pits. Henry Delonjay picked up the lead on the restart and was never headed the rest of the way to the checkered flag at 20 laps. Brandon Lennox settled for second with

Jim Roach in third, Brandon Brown in fourth and Danny Lake in fifth. Delonjay and Lake were the heat race winners. DeLonjay is sixteen points up over Brandon Lennox in the points chase.

Tony Dunker picked up his second feature event win of the season in the B Modifieds after surviving numerous restarts during the twenty lapper. Joe Blivens gave Dunker a run for his money but had to settle for the second spot with Wyatt Lance rallying to third after an early incident put him to the rear. Joe Hooper took the fourth position with Robbie Carter grabbing fifth. Dunker and Blivens were the heat race winners. Lance now holds a 20 point advantage over Joe Hooper.

James Lain took the lead in the Bomber main event at the drop of the green flag but Adam Birck made a charge to the front of the field from his fourth row starting spot to take over the lead on the sixth lap. Birck held off several attempts at the lead from Michael Larsen and Steve Carlin but managed to claim his fourth win of the season. Larsen settled for second with Carlin in third, Eddie Dieker in fourth and Kurt Wolf in fifth. Larse, Lain and Jerry Jansen were the heat race winners. Steve Carlin now holds a one point advantage over Eddie Dieker in second, seven over Michael Larsen and twelve over Adam Birck in the closest battle for the points title.

The action will really heat up at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, June 26 as the Pepsi Mid-Season Challenge is on tap. This event will be a Draw/Redraw event for all classes with trophies for the top three spots in all divisions. Gates open at 4 with Hot Laps at 6 and Racing starting at 6:30pm.
