NEW FLORENCE, MO (June 4th) –- This was one of the biggest weeks of young Brian Kinnaird’s life, first on June 1st Brian and his wife Sheena welcomed a new daughter into their lives with the birth of Kinsey. Then three days later Brian won the biggest race of his career with his victory in the Drivers Seat 25 at Montgomery County Speedway.
The feature was originally to be ran on May 29th but rain forced the postponement by one week. This made the Drivers Seat 25 the opening feature of the June 4th program. The Drivers Seat 25 is a 25 lap B-Modified race that was sponsored by the Drivers Seat Racing Newspaper, Cody Tee’s, Hurricane Motorsports, Trashdog Racing Photos, Randy Dickman, Mid Rivers Bar and Grill, Rayfield Racing Components, and Midwest Environmental Solutions.
Brian Kinnaird started front row pole for the race and jumped out to an early lead, withstanding persistent challenges from Lance Cox, Jerry Dean and Ken Rumble. On lap 19 Lance Cox was able to seize the lead by taking the high line around Brian Kinnaird that was caught behind lap traffic.
The lead was short lived as Brian Kinnaird was able to storm back one lap later to seize control of the lead and take the victory. The race paid $700 to win and he was presented with the 5 ½ foot Drivers Seat 25 trophy.
Chasing Brian to the finish line was Lance Cox, Jerry Dean, Ken Rumble, and Mike Vanderiet, Jr.
Brian was thilled with the win and wanted to thank his sponsors for help making the victory possible.
