Brian Shaw wins over Ken Schrader and David Shain

I know each team has its reasons, but it would sure be nice to see more mods at this event. The atmosphere and prestige at the dirt miles are something unique, and the history of the track is to be revered.

Grant Enfinger won the ARCA race with a last lap pass... Wahoo finished 12th today.

good for him--he has been wanting me to try the mile but I will leave that up to the younger guys

The mods at duquoin r a filler, not the show!

I get that, but it would still be nice to see a few more of the top teams run the mile. I remember the first few years of the show you would see Shereck, Revin, Seets and others there.

Not just the pay winning the mod portion led to other rides for some including cockrum that I don't remember him winning to many mod races actually none other than the mile but he got midget sprint and silver crown ride out of the deal so it's worth a lot more than two grand to win

Excellent point! And even if it doesn't lead to anything else, DuQuoin is one of the grandest stages a Midwestern dirt racer can perform on. An opportunity to race on the same dirt as A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Mario Andretti, etc.

Our motor wasn't a low budget motor had a rod bolt break in a new set of callies rods but I think the big reason they don't draw is risk of everything motor, car, and health it's no joke runnin there!

Agreed Aaron man hate to hear that bad does callies rods come with rod bolts or were they arp? bad luck either way bud. ya seen an incar video of Joey Kramer at springfied wow had to be turning 9000 around there..

I'm not so sure I buy the big engine is rougher on the engine idea when it comes to dirt racing. A few years ago I put a data logger on a sportsman car at Montgomery County Speedway and when the track was heavy and fast RPM didn't vary by more than a few hundred all the way around the track. How would it be any different?

I don't know what gear you need to get off the corners on the mile tracks, but the mph difference between the corners and the straitaways is significant. In 2014 schraders practice times were right at 30 sec. So 90-100 in corners. 140 or so on straits? Just a guess! "he was faster than the silver crown cars qualifying times!!!
