Yes the promoter at Macon did say that he was cutting the purse and THINKING about 1000 to win, but was not sure if he could do that. He was supposed to payout 3500 to the winner. Yes i agree they should give you an idea, so you can decide to race or load it. Most of the guys at Macon just wanted to race so thats why they did it.
