Burch Captures First Career Victory

NEW FLORENCE, Mo. -- (July 10, 2004) Shannon Burch of Farmington picked up his first career victory Saturday night at the Montgomery County Speedway during the Racing Association of Mini Stocks (RAMS) Points Series. Burch took the lead midway through the feature and sailed to the checkered flag. The win also pulled Burch into third place in the Point Series (with 382 points), trailing only #6 Rich Ruch of Perryville (402 points) and #16 Jon Paul Reando of Festus (393).

Jack Tshannen posted his best overall finish Saturday night by finishing second in the feature. Bill Nickelson of DeSoto captured third place with Ruch fourth and Bob Kintz of St. Louis fifth. They were followed by Jimmy Todd of Steelville, Steve LeGarce, Ron LeGarce and Reando.

Ruch won the first heat race with Burch second and Ron LeGarce third. Chris Boyd won the second heat with Reando second and Nickelson third.

The RAMS Points Series is sponsored this season by Mouser Steel Supply of Patton, Mo., Burch Fencing of Farmington, Lemons Photography of Arnold, Detailers & More Inc. of O'Fallon, and Rayfield Racing Components of O'Fallon.
The next RAMS Points Series event will be held at the St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington on Saturday, July 24th.
