Mark Burgtorf picked up his first points paying Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event win Sunday night in dominating fashion. Burgtorf drew the outside pole for the 30 lap main event and jumped into the lead at the drop of the green flag. Burgtorf gained his third feature win in a row by leading all thirty laps by a comfortable margin through several caution periods. Boone McLaughlin started the main event on the pole and tried in vain to stay with Burgtorf but had to settle for the second spot. Tom Darbyshire rallied late in the event to grab third over Lonnie Bailey in fourth and Joey Gower in fifth. Burgtorf made it a clean sweep of his events as he also won his heat and the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. McLaughlin and Bailey grabbed the other two heat race wins.

Terry Houston grabbed the lead at the drop of the green flag in the Miller Lite IMCA Modified feature event and led the first two laps until Josh Foster blew by to take over the top spot. Foster then pulled away from the field and made a shambles of the field to take his first ever feature event win at Quincy. Foster won over Henry Delonjay in second, Tony Dunker in third, Robbie Reed in fourth and Danny Lake in fifth. Delonjay and Lake were the heat race winners with Lake also scoring the victory in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Travis Booher grabbed the win in the Bomber feature event but had to do it by coming from his eighth row starting spot. Booher worked the field to perfection as he got to the lead on the thirteenth lap after battling with Adam Birck and Larry Powell through the middle portion of the twenty lap event. Booher wrestled the lead away from Birck and then pulled away to take his first win of 2006. Powell settled for second with Matt Burgtorf crossing the line in third but Burgtorf was DQ’d in tech for illegal roller tipped rocker arms bringing Eddie Dieker to third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth. Birck, Aaron Brocksieck and Todd Reichert were the heat race winners.

James Leffew was the Hornet feature winner by leading all twelve laps of the main event. Leffew started on the second row and took the lead by the end of the first lap and was never seriously challenged on his way to the checkered flag. Toby Long scored second followed by Don DeMint in third, Travis DeMint in fourth and Joel Kerr in fifth. Leffew and Jake Powers were the heat race winners.

The next event at Quincy Raceways will be the Gem City Ford Mothers Night at the races on Mothers Day, May 14. Gates open at 4 with Hot Laps at 5:45 and racing at 6:30pm.
